Which Console, Argh!

I've got both, but if I had to keep one it would be the PS3. I never had a PS2 so the lack of games issue that a lot of people have with the PS3 isn't an issue for me, if anything I have too many games... and I've got metal gear 2 + 3 on the way this week! :D

Its well built, looks great, silent, has 'good' games which no doubt will get better and better as the months roll on. You will eventually buy a PS3 might aswel be now ;)

what he said

PS3 just wont be worth it for atleast 6 months, probably more like 12. Wait for a price drop and some good titles.

sceptisism and lack of fact is not conducive to what is in essence a lifestyle choice.

As a PS3 fanboy I would say, get a 360, and after a few months (when it breaks) decide if the fun was really worth it, if it was then replace and repeat the above step, eventually when you think it isn't worth it anymore, replace it for a PS3.

OT never call yourself a fanboy on this forum. It tends to backfires. :p

No one, I cant defend Ps3 or Sony with the current trend at hand - no games or lack of good games. 360 is the way forward for now. :)

Get one! And wait for it to break and you'll change your tone haha! :p

Are you going to get one?

I have a 360 and I'm loving it. Yes there are multiple problems (something like 25% of them break) but if it hasn't broke before the warranty runs out, accidently break it (make it over-heat, wrap it in a towel or something) and get the 3 red lights of death send it back and your warranty starts again ;)

Also look at the games available
If you like Shooters and racing games then the 360 is your best bet (gears of war, Halo 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Alan Wake, GTA4 with the exclusive content it gets, Forza 2, PGR4, Too Human, Splinter cell 5: conviction, GRAW, GRAW 2)

If you prefer role-playing games and Adventure games then the PS3 is probably your best bet(MGS4, Heavenly Sword, GT5, Lair, Killzone 2, Final Fantasy XIII)

All I can think of atm, they're just the exclusives for each console

Also in Multi-platform games you will notice that most of the time the 360 looks better as most of them will be made on the 360 and then be ported over to the PS3 as it's easier to program for the 360 ;)

Ok I have a 360 that my uncle gave me, which he probably purchased not long after launch day. I have not experienced any problems so far with overheating or generally breaking. My PS3 on the hand crashes more frequently in games than X360 :( What gives

Also I would like to give my two cents on the screenshot comparrisons. The two consoles have very different hardware, and therefore a game probably will always look better and run better on the console it was primarily made for.

By the way, IGN has a feature up on all the best games coming up on each console this year, so check it out.

Dude, where have you read that? On the back of a penguin biscuit? Have you tried the PS3 and 360, or are you just following the rest of the people that slate the PS3? Ive tried Virtua Tennis 3, COD3 and will be trying Rainbow 6: Vegas on Friday. COD3 ran like a dog on the 360, its just slowed down so badly i traded the 360 version in for the PS3 version. So far all of the so called 'ports' ive played have ran better on the PS3. As for looks, they lok pretty much identical to me, Ive yet to try Vegas, but Virtua Tennis looks loads better on the PS3 than the 360, and COD3 is pretty much the same.

Anyways, which to buy? Ill tell you what i tell people that ask me at work. Want good online, buy the 360 with xbox live. Want smoother gameplay and better framerates? get the PS3.

Games wise, they are similar if you ask me. Gears of War on the 360 and Resistance:FoM on the PS3, although i have to admit i far prefer GoW. Forza 2 on the 360, which is good fun, but you have F1 and GT:HD on the PS3. Fighting games, both have Fight Night, the PS3 has Virtua Fighter, which i believe is coming to the 360 soon. One that may swing it is Ninja Gaiden, which is out on the PS3 next week, if your into those games.

As for upcoming releases, they are relatively similar, albeit the PS3 seem to be taking the majority of the release date delays.

Build quality wise the PS3 run circles around the 360 on console build quality, but the controller on the 360 feels a lot more solidly put together and having the rumble is very nice.

Online, the PS3 isnt too great, last time i tried it it was laggy, slow and kept on dropping out, whereas xbox live is brilliant and easy to use. In the time ive had the PS3 it hasnt flinched once, no freezes, no lockups, no nothing, compared to my 360 which seems to freeze at least once a week.

To be honest it is tought to call which one to get. The 360 certainly has a wider range of games to buy, but the PS3 is catching up, with Vegas coming on Friday, and GRAW2 coming soon, and the Darkness, Ninja Gaiden and GTA towards the end of the year. Both consoles have quality games getting released, its just which games you want.

At the moment, the 360 is probably the best investment, however the Elite is supposedly just around the corner, so heres something to consider. If your buying immediately then id get the 360, but if your waiting a while, then what to go for, the 360 elite, or pay a little extra for a PS3 with its blu ray player.

At the moment id definately get the 360 first, its a console you cant really go wrong with, just be prepared to have to return it if it breaks. Personally im on my 2nd 360 since January.

In short

PS3:-
-Better put together
-Steady stream of games coming
-Online not brilliant but with a lot of potential to be improved
-Blu ray player
-HDMI connection
-Regular updates to console improving its capabilities
-A lot quieter than the 360 when running

360:-
-Not as reliable
-More games coming out
-More established
-More peripherals
-Xbox Live is a godsend
-Very noisy when swiched on

Thats a good post.
Like you i have a 360 and a ps3.
The ps3 from a build quality is the rolls royce of consoles.
The 360 is turning out like the ps2 the peoples console loads of games and lots of second hand games now at cheap prices.
My 360 is used every day and at the moment the ps3 is hardly ever switched on.
I have had more fun playing games online with the 360 than i have ever had with any console.
