Howdy Folks :D

Well, to begin, I do not own any next generation consoles although have had the advantage of playing all three (Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3), All of which are very entertaining. Having being able to choose one, and only one is driving me crazy as I dont know which to go (Thats where you come in ;) )

The major pros and con's from my point of view;

Xbox 360

More enjoyable games, as a racing / sports fan (Forza 2, FNR 3 etc)

Average priced, so buying a few games / accessories will be affordable at the same time

The countless threads of problems (Dont know If i can be arsed with them)

Wii

Great gameplay style / countless accessories although this soon wore off

Not a fan of any of the games really (Apart from Mario / SNES updated games)

Cheapest!

Playstation 3

Good games, but not as enjoyable as the 360 (NO Forza 2 :o )

Less problems (So far), looks pretty and not as loud as 360.

Blu Ray drive / HDMI support = Yummy

Price = Hurts the plastic :p (Although only about £100-120 extra now, so not that bad)

As you can see, the battle is really between the PS3/Xbox 360, but are the better games (CURRENTLY) worth potential hardware faults / No Bluray? (And paying £120 for a HD Drive is not grabbing me either lol)

Anywho, I'd love to hear your opinions on which you would buy and why, or if you do own all three which do you prefer, or do they all have good bad / points like what I've posted above.

UPDATE: I have a HD TV (With HDMI Ports)

Your post seems concerned with the faults with the 360, so get a PS3. Play that for a month realise there's bugger all to play, trade it in for a 360 with a few games. Get 3 red lights, moan and bitch but realise atleast you have some games to play ;)

When was the last time you saw much on here from PS3 owners about their great games.

I will get a PS3 myself but not til they are under £300 with a back catalogue of games.

i got a wii for fun games and to play with my young son, my Pc is where the hardcore HD gamming gets done :)

gf 8800gtx & c2d makes sure they look the nuts beats any console hands down, but for fun get the wii

:p

i just look after my console anyway, if it breaks it breaks, got a perfectly good pc here for most of my gaming anyway

I've just traded in my 360 for a Wii, enjoying it so far. Only played Wii Sports, but it's a good laugh. I just got really bored of my 360, and I have to say graphics aren't everything. I just had more fun on the Wii in an hour with my flatmate than I've had on the 360 in months. I'm looking forward to Zelda and dowloading some old games for it. I can't really give much of an opinion on the Wii yet, but it does seem to suit my needs better. And to top it off, it's quiet as a mouse (yes thats a big dig at the 360, and in my opinion it DOES matter! ;) ).

Not much help for you there, but I'd say just go with your gut feeling!

Paul

EDIT: I'd like to add that my 360 was a launch console, and I never had a problem with it.

I've got all 3, and as a games machine the 360 is superb, it's just inundated with quality titles at the moment, the PS3 will get there, but not just yet...

Get a 360 now, enjoy for the next 6-12 months, then re-asses, if there are plenty of exclusives for the PS3, it will be cheaper by then..

360, ive got one and wii but do not see the point in ps3....yet!
360 has a load of games that can be picked up cheap, has a bag full of download content from demos to extra maps etc. looking at reviews of cross platform games, the 360 i sbetter than the ps3 so why get one if it only has a couple of original titles?
as for the wii, its good fun but only when your on it with other people.the graphics are nothing like the 360 or ps3 and if you have hd anyway, you might as well make use of it. one good thing about the wii is that it has a web browser, although i think you have to pay for it now?

Thanks.

Yep, it costs 500 points (Think that goes live soon or might have already)

I agree with you on the Wii subject, about its only "REALLY" fun with other people, and unless I can teach my dog to play this will be difficult as it'll be in my room all the time. Well, personally and from your comments the 360 seems sensible in my situation followed closely by the Wii.

Again, lack of information on the PS3, just like someone said about "Not many threads on PS3" :p

i dont think you will regret it, unless you have only ever played games on a pc or dont like americans, then that could be the only downfall!!

I'd say get a PS3, 30 titles to choose from if you haven't had/got a 360...

I would suggest a 360 because of the games, but I just can't due to the reliability of the damm thing :(

It's big investment at £400 +(PS3) but it is definately £400 worth of hardware :)

No friends/family = No Wii
