Which console?

unfortunately i'm not allowed to say due to forum rules, but there was sign outside when i passed the shop on saturday stating this price. doubt it's changed since then unless individual branches offer different deals?

I think I saw that. You had to trade in a Wii or something daft like that. They had a chart up of each console traded against each console.

nope all it said was 'second hand 40gb ps3's now £140'. no other console or deals mentioned. i can only assume this branch had huge stock that needed shifting if no one else saw it.

I have tonight seen (in a supermarket) PS3 80GB + Ghostbusters OR Infamous OR GT5 Prologue for £200. Not bad really.

Thanks again for all the comments. My mates have all got xbox 360's but they don't play the sort of games I like to it's not as if I can borrow their games lol.

I recently bought an Elite with 2 games for £199.99. Sold the HDD and games and in the end I got a brand new Elite for less than £100

I have a 360 and a PS3 and tend to use the 360 for multiplayer a lot more simply because most of my friends are on the system. I'd say if is your first console of this generation to go with the 360, especially if you aren't fussed about Blu-Ray.

I just think that as a gaming platform it's slightly more accessible to a newcomer and has a great range of games and back-catalogue games. But at the end of the day you really need to look at what games take your fancy, if more do on the PS3 then get one. They're both great machines that will give you many hours of fun.

Just remember if you go with the 360 to factor into the price the wireless adapter (if you aren't going to use ethernet) and an Xbox Live subscription in the future. :)

i vote 360, i've got both but i mainly use my ps3 for films there are so many awesome games on the 360 where as the ps3 only has a few good ps3 only games

and to give you an idea i have 3 360's in my house (paid for) and 1 ps3 (free with phone) and the kids had the choice of what they wanted and they chose the 360 over the wii and ps3

edit: if xbox live sub is an issue there is a few sites that do a code only service with 12 months costing £26 so not too bad and a great service with sky joining at the end of the month you'll beable to watch sky through your 360 :D
