Which console

Ps4 pro and buy ratchet and clank - it's like being in a Disney movie. Reminded me of crash bandicoot on ps1 as a kid, it's a magical experience for someone that age.

Definitely PS4.

Some may suggest the Wii U but you would be buying into a dead console with limited number of games and nothing really to come. Nintendo have a new console coming next year and I think production of Wii U has already stopped, or stopping very shortly.

Did you know the Wii U can play 100s of very cheap Wii games too?

No other games consoles has a 5th amount of 10 year old games, and you can play Minecraft on the Gamepad.

Nonsense. £350 for 1 game? The PS4 is an adult console without a doubt.

I've had ps1 as a kid and it was great - wasn't that an adult console as well?? How do you classify console as an adult one? All of the 7 year old+ games available are for adults ? There are plenty of great titles for the whole family.

There are plenty of other games too, it's just one I've mentioned that is definitely worth getting.

I wouldn't touch wii, you get bored of it too quickly imho and it's too limited. Xbox unless you're buying one 2nd hand for £100 to save money I wouldn't touch either at this point.

I struggle to see why kids seem to be so into mine craft. I guess they just haven't seen any other games as it seems more of a fashion than anything.

All lego and mine craft games are on ps4 as well

And the Wii U where you can play it on the pad while the TV is freed up for something else. I guess he bought all the games on the X1 hence the stats.

My daughter has the Wii U(9yr) and she loves Mario Kart mainly, all kids that age love Mario don't they? If it was PS4 or X1, then I'd say PS4 Slim, some great deals.

One of the advantages of the Xbox One is that it can play 360 games aswell and you can pick those up cheaply.. there are currently around 250 that work and more on the way:)

I've never done this on any console with backwards compatibility.

Graphics move on so much between generations especially on consoles. It would be akin to watching VHS when you have a blu ray player

Minecraft is epic for them. Great for being creative. I love it too but dont play it now.

One word: "Condemned" Still one of the best detective/horror games around, and still looks good on X1.

Xbox and PS4 are much of a much besides a few exclusive titles which I'm not sure would matter to her anyway since she has no particualr preference. Just see which has the best offers on Black Friday.

I have a Wii U and it's great, love playing Mario Kart and Smash Bros. with my nephews. Personally though I wouldn't recommend it as the console is still very pricey despite the Switch coming in March. If you could get it for a deal then great but otherwise I would steer clear.

Wouldn't she like a 3DS or something instead?

With respect to the largest game library, it has to be the Xbox One (considering all the games you can tap into that are on BC). Perhaps with Kinect for the likes of Dance Central?

+1

If someone else wants to use the screen for something, else then most WiiU games can be played on the Gamepad alone. No arguing over who gets to use the TV and such. Not to mention WiiU obviously has Minecraft. Probably the best version of it on console due to the gamepad alone, closest one to the PC version as far as I can tell.
