Which drive out of these is the best performer?

Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

Maxtor MaxLine III NCQ 250GB 7V250F0 SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB ST3250620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

Only a fiver difference in price between them all.

The Seagate is the quickest by a fair bit, take a look at the 320Gb one though, it offers a better price per Gb.

Looks like the seagate it is then. No point going for the 320Gb, the 250Gb is plenty big enough, its replacing a 74Gb Raptor :p

The 400Gb offers best price per Gb

400Gb - £1 = 4.863Gb
320Gb - £1 = 4.778Gb

;)

Good to see that they've sorted the price of the 400Gb one, for some reason it previously was a fair bit more per Gb than either the 320 or the 500.
