Which executive estate?

My opposite neighbour has a 2006 Lexus with a powered boot.

. Opens and closes from a button, never seen anything like it.
You have to a press a button - pffft, that's so last decade :p. These days you wave your foot under the bumper and it opens.

Why stop at the S6 !?!?! - RS6 all way, there are some great 89k mile examples for £25k on AutoTrader, which I'm guessing are cheap to run :p

I appreciate its probably not executive enough but the new Skoda Superb Estate looks pretty brilliant for around 30k new. I realise the engines aren't nearly as big as the ones in the cars you mentioned but they look like a nice motor to me :)

Flame away :D

Like pretty much every estate these days? The 5 Series does it off the key :p

First time I remember seeing it was an accord more than a decade ago! Seen a few that open the boot by waving your foot under the bumper, not sure if this happens on estates due to the risk of it smacking you in the face though

Random thought: CLS Shooting Brake?

CLS 350CDI will be at the top end of your budget if you're willing to stretch a little.

Oh my, there's even a solitary petrol one out there!

Found one! Literally, one.

The 5 GT represents very good VFM if you don't mind the looks. Rides better too due to the longer wheelbase.

The CLS is lovely car rare in shooting brake style. Will be in the market for a large estate next year ( after persuading myself not to buy a Disco :) ) and this was top of the list, although the BMWs are ice as well. Did fancy an E type but the CLS just looks much sleeker.

That S6 is lovely for the money. Amazing how cheap they are now.

I'd hope they did a better job of the noise than they did with their V8 though. My wife's S4, while a lovely car in a lot of ways, is very disappointing aurally - which unfortunately means it hasn't scratched the V8 itch it was supposed to.

There is no credible Jaguar Estate in the £25k market.

Indeed. So frustrating that they took so long to make an estate version of the premium XF, meaning the prices are still sky high. You can get a V8 saloon for £20k, but a V8 estate is going to be £50kish.

How about a Range Rover ? If your coming from a 330 estate then that's not exactly a lot of boot really. £25K will buy you a lovely Range Rover, V8 power, exec image.

When they make a 'Sportbrake' version of the latest XF, it might be worth looking at again.

That could be a few years away, as the last gen estate didn't go on sale until October 2012!

Anyone know if there's going to be an XE estate?
