what a lot will miss is the smaller details. a lot of games do big bold good looking but the smaller fine texures skin little touches and that is why crysis wins
Best looking games are in 3D, get a 120hz monitor, a couple GTX 780's and the Nvidia 3D vision kit, load up Trine 2, War Thunder, Assetto Corsa, or any other game that works with 3D and be prepared to scoop up your jaw from the floor.
Even older games look stunning in 3D, then go buy Oculus Rift consumer not dev next year. Job done. Oh, you just gotta do Pinball FX2 in 3d on the Starwars/ Starfighter Assault table, just watch the glorious battles in 3D between X-wing and Tie fighters dogfighting while your playing but be prepared to loose your ball very quickly as you take youe eye off the ball to watch the fight. Awesome.

Crysis 3 does look incredible and probably has the best visuals we've seen to date.
But for me, it doesn't look realistic, i never find myself thinking "wow, this looks photo-realistic" where as in Arma 3, there's been quite a few instances where i've thought it does, at least imo.
wow Chuckie Egg, just great memories playing that with my father on my Acorn Electron. All im hearing now is the sound little chuckie makes when he runs up and down the ladders collecting the eggs.
Crysis 3, nothing comes close. After the dire crysis 2 that was considered a game designed for consoles, crysis 3 is a true PC game that offers some astounding visuals on PC.
