Which game would you defend to the death?

I like discussing games with people, and i will generally respect peoples opinion on games so long as they give it a chance, but occasionally when somebody criticizes a game, i feel that i just have to defend it.

For example, i really liked Fallout NV, but i can understand if someone else just doesn't like it, same with Crysis 2. I loved it, but i understand how some people might be disappointed. That is up to them. However, occasionally i find that i can't accept it with games and have to defend it ad i just van't understand how someone wouldn't like it.

What games do you feel this way about?
What game would you defend against any criticism?

Mine would have to be Bioshock. I know there is not much love for it on here for some reason. But i think it is probably my favourite game ever, and i do not get how someone couldn't like it:)

cheers

Well level headed answer would be nothing of course (why would you kill yourself over a game).

But yeah, I would certainly not hold back in support of Mass Effect, even with its minor flaws.

Title of thread is a figure of speech.

-If you are ever in a situation where defending the reputation of a game would result in your death, in my honest opinion, i would advise conceding defeat:)

:D

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines.

When it came out it was rushed so there was loads of bugs...this is the most discussed aspect of the game even though it's, frankly, tremendous - it has amazing dialogue, music and countless aspects of the game change depending on the choices you make. If all games had a fraction of the effort that this game has had put into the gameplay I'd be very happy.

Yeah, great game. This ^ or Deus Ex.

Absolutely nothing, no game is perfect.

I expect Half-Life 2 to win if there was a poll though, i've experienced people leaping to the defence of that game (admittedly, it deserved a lot of the praise it got, but it's still far from perfect and rode the wave of success it's predecessor generated to some extent).

It could only be Deus Ex, that game was just unbelievable and really in my eyes hasn't been matched since.

I was getting quite protective of Portal a few days ago as well. Someone said it was boring and too short, so not worth buying.
I was kind of saying " ok, it's not your sort of game, but you must admit it was a geat game, all things considered, even if you didn't enjoy it." he was having none of it though.
Portal is another game that i just can't see how someone could not like it!
