Hi,
I think it maybe time to upgrade my ati 4890.

Resolution is 1920x1200
Budget is £200-220.
Games. FPS and RTS.

Low noise when playing games, temps and power consumption are important.

Dang u, you've just sold this to me!!!!!

Now to see how much i can get for my, GTX 275 OCX with Batman: AA game code

Thanks.
What about noise?
My current machine sounds like it's going to take off when gaming? :)

Does flashing work on all 6950 cards?

Is there any other choice than a 6950 for £199?

Get it, unlock the shaders and overclock it to 6970 speeds.

They are not silent though but they are quieter than the 4xxx series so it should be an improvement from your 4890.

The 560 has got a smaller buffer (which is starting to be a problem in some games at your res), slower memory and it is slower at stock. It is a quieter card than the 6950 though (these are not loud either though!) but that is about the only advantage it has got.

Their Crossfire performance is also amazing and scale better than the 560 series.

Where has this buffer size issue come from. Has there been some new games recently that are pushing cards more?

OP, for that cash the obvious choice is the 6950 and then unlock it.

Metro 2033 with AA and AS at op res eats around 1.2Gb of Memory
Crysis with AA and AS at op res can eat up to 1.2-1.3GB of Memory at users res (Crysis 2 probably the same).
F1 2010 is also a problem I heard and it could be one of the reasons why it runs better on the new AMD cards.
