Which Graphics card would be an improvement over Intel Motherboard graphics please?

"GeForce GTX 1050Ti Mini 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card"

I like the look of this one an the reviews look good - so I might just go for it for Friday delivery as at home then!

theres no passive option unless you go for the 1030, which may or may not be an improvement or big enough improvement over the intel. but either of these should fit the bill and should be quiet/fairly quiet, more so the asus

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £519.46 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Well - I have gone for this one:
ASUS GEFORCE GTX 1050TI PHOENIX 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD - £149.99, reduced from £169.99.

Thanks all. Mel

Not a bad choice, you could probably get a 4gig 1050ti to for a little less, but if it's got better warranty and a few other perks such as a factory overclock or a better cooler then cool!

Hello Learned ones!

When my new graphics card arrives tommorow I will have:

- motherboard graphics
- 1030 passive graphics card
- the Asus 1050Ti above

Is there some simple test prog I can download to get a "score"for each set up to see how they score against each other please?

Thanks, Mel

The most popular GPU benchmarks are the 3DMark suite (primarily Fire Strike and Time Spy) and the three Unigine ones (Valley, Heaven and Superposition). All spit out a score at the end, so are easily compared.

If you have a budget of £200 I’d definitely go for the 1060 over the 1050ti. A used GTX 980 would be worth a shout too.

Edit: oh you already bought the 1050ti lol.
I didn't really want to spend more than £150 in view of it's limited use (visiting Grandson).

Well I downloaded "Furmark" just to see the difference.
On 1280x1024 benchmark test scores:

- Intel graphics - score = 383
- 1030 passive card - score = 1244
- Asus 1050Ti (as above) = score = 2643

So significant differences. Mel
(what the numbers mean I have no idea!)

a gtx 1030 isnt a gaming card or really a strong card, so its no surprising with the score difference, what intel was used as some people say the 1030 is only slightly better which i guess must be newer intel or they dont know what they talking about. the 1050ti is like an improved 750ti, certainly from reviews its a good middle man choice.
