Which hot hatch has the best tuning potential?

Because I want to. It's something I've always wanted to do. I know it's going to loose me money in the long run, but that's not what I care about. I want to enjoy it.

Why am I not suprised you didnt declare your remap..

Probably because I've insinuated this before?

But seriously, I see little point in declaring just a remap when you have a unit that can remove the map at any time.

*Bends over for "the crew"*

Do you have the DS Mike? Looking at getting one for my car.

I've responded to your other thread with my advice. But basically you get two maps standard; Stage 1 and 2.

Stage 1 is for a completely stock car, and Stage 2 is for a car with an air filter and downpipe iirc. Stage 3 is available for an extra £50 and will make use of a full turbo back exhaust and intercooler as well.

But seriously, just buy the Mountune kit.

Most tunable hot hatch....

Fiesta ST with a supercharger?

Forged internals
Uprated Bearings
Big bore Milltek exhaust system and manifold
Cosworth Duratec inlet manifold
60mm throttle body
Jamsport spec cams + valve springs
Various other fettling

That spec has seen up to 384bhp on the rollers, giving an absolutely ludicrous power to weight ratio, and the likes of Jamsport and others are continuing to develop further - the 384bhp car was still a 2 litre but you can convert to 2.3 or 2.5 litre capacity, add throttle bodies in a custom manifold, then they're creating a 2.5 Duratec Turbo...

Such a car would needs serious work in terms of brakes, gearbox (which is very likely to break and crys out for an LSD) and so forth as well for longevity, but they can be made seriously quick if you're mad enough to splash more cash on the engine and tuning bits than the car cost in the first place...not too sure on drivability but for a car of its type (2.0 'small' hatch) I can't think of another that has quite such a range of parts and conversions available.

He said simple mods.

Supercharging an R32 is not simple, or cheap

it is pretty simple but no it isnt cheap (£7-8k)

cheap hp gain = turbo car theres not really anyway around that

going from the op the r32 has GREAT potential its a strong engine with good capacity sounds glorious has 4wd grips very well and looks very good

downsides are
its a heavy puppy little you can do about that
understeers too much you can very deffinately fix that
more thirsty than a 2l turbo motor (expect mid 20s overall average mpg)

I've enjoyed reading through this thread. I was only ever posting out of interest I was not planning on purchasing a car to mod.

Did someone mention that the OP has 2 accounts?

I only have one active account. I lost access to the other as I lost access to the email address it was registered to and forgot the password.
