Which "Hot Hatch"?

You're saving for a house deposit but want to blow 1/4 of your earnings on financing a car? Utterly mad, because even if you can save the deposit up, you won't be able to afford the mortgage repayments because you're still paying off the car

Really not a fan of the Ford sorry guys :( also their finance sucks right now at least £100 a month than any other car I have looked at...

 Finance on a new car makes me sad!

Seriously i thought you were a cash buyer before so i didnt care about the new vs used thing. But if you are financing just go used and save about 7-10k

The other aspect with these cars is insurance and practicability - I do a lot of Mountain biking and need to get mine and a mates in the boot :)

I could barely get my 10 year old son's bike in the boot of my old Mk 2 Focus. You aren't going to get 2 adult size mountain bikes in the boot of any of these cars, least of all the Sirocco.

Not interested would rather give a small amount each month than a lump sum - also gives me greater flexibility to change the car sooner imo...

Surely you intend to put down a sizeable deposit though? Or you will instantly owe more money than the car is worth? Meaning you won't be able to simply sell the car and pay the finance off if your circumstances change, which is a pretty fundamental provisio of buying a car in this way IMHO?

Yeah around £22k

Also I concede I will look at some ex-demo's etc. but really don't want any scratches or niggles - it will bug me knowing I have not done it and could have done nothing to prevent it...

I bought my old VXR at 8 months old, paid nearly £6k less than it would have cost brand new, it was immaculate - enough so that you could believe it was brand new, and because I bought it 8 months old and found the right one at the right price, I managed to sell it back to the purchasing dealer for just £500 less than I paid a year later.

By doing that you just end up in an ever increasing cycle of dripped up cars.

If you are financing, buy a nearly new one, pay for it then build from there.

I already reccomended. he doesnt like the Clio RS or the Megane RS

This thread has epic potenial to be a motors classic. Last page is realy helping it on.

Next stage is to buy from carcraft :D

He is writing off great cars here , ah well.
And yes potential for a classic thread here , best one yet :D

Oh no, here we go.

I must ask if you are a lady, as I didn't think there were many men on the internets with logic like this, bar twoblacklines that is.

/facepalm

Jebus, this has bad idea written all over it. Buy a second hand car, no point over stretching yourself on finance unecessarily.

The Leon is a sea of bad plastic, and it's value plummets very quickly. Better bought 2nd hand.

Civic has a very poor ride and you may find revving the thing to 8k to get the performance a bit tiresome after a while.

The Scirocco will have the best residuals, especially if you find yourself wanting a change sooner than expected - at 23 life and circumstances can change very quickly. I'm not sure whether you would get a mountain bike in the back of one though. The least impractical of the three.

I think you will find the new car thing a disappointment, personally, but good luck.

Okay this makes sense, the other great thing about buying the Civic new is that servicing is included for 3 years, again this helps with swallowing the APR on the dealers scheme.

if servicing is so important why don't you go and buy a toyota. :p

OP I suggest you take advice from people here, you seem to lack any financial skills or logic.
