Which is cooler?

Names have gone a bit ghey in recent years - Picnic, Fairlady and Accent to name a few.

They used to be good:

Jensen Interceptor
Dodge Charger
Nissan Skyline
Ford Mustang
Aston Martin Vantage Volante
Bently Arnage T

etc...

Although really it was just supercars that got good names, not many family hatchbacks had cool names :D

Ah but if you owned a Skyline or Mustage, you'd typically not mention it was a Nissan or a Ford. Good names for the car yes, but the make tends to lower the tone. I'd rather have a Skyline that a Nissan Skyline...... :)

As mentioned earlier, names + numbers = good.

Dodge Charger 440 R/T
Mustang 5.0GT
Corvette ZR-1

I mean, you say Chrysler Neon, you get the image of a hopelessly dumpy ****box, and rightfully so. But you say Dodge Neon SRT4, and you get a SCREAMING MONSTER with the same sort of body shape as the hopeless turd....

Just using one car as an example, there are MANY more out there that when you get the "spec'd" editions (normally adding letters and numbers after or before the name) the basic boring edition of the car becomes an exciting thrill ride!!

A combination of numbers and letters.

i.e. RX7, MX5, 350Z, 205GTI etc...

Definately.

Some names are great though, like Steve said TVR's have fantastic names.

But on the whole, letters/numbers = win.

Yeah well make snobbery applies to numbered cars as well..

But then you just have to say... I have a 307 HDi...

gheyness...

There is a big difference bwteen naming a car a number and using numbers signify which model in the range..

ie focus 1.6 or focus ST

:p

However, Nova wasnt a real problem in Spain compared to a Mitsubishi Pajero...

I mean who wants to drive around spain in a pajero!!!

However, the name Shogun was cooler anyway

:D

I have an Aunty called Silvia.

She has a moustache.
Dammit. The only famous good looking Silvia I can find on google is a porn star (cant post unfortunately) :(

So Silvia clearly sucks as a name. Case proven. The defence rests. Obscure meaningless numbers win :(
