Which is the Most Advanced Mobile Phone of 2017?

I'm no apple fan, but nothing comes close to the iPhone X IMHO

Processor which benchmarks faster than the mobile i5, dual camera with ois and the technology behind faceid

I personally am jumping ship from Apple to the new LG V30 soon as it becomes available. Just bored of listening to Apple's keynotes as if they invented the wheel. Everything they showed is already out there.

I very much doubt I'd ever buy another iphone, and they do seem to be playing catch up. The V30 looks to be one heck of a phone, but my soul is preventing me from buying an LG phone for £800. It's just not letting me, although the old G2 was one of my all time favourites.

anyway, I still think that at this moment in time the X is currently the most advanced phone on the planet. They seem to have taken all the best bits (apart from the stupid notch) and stuck it in a single device. Best processor, best camera, best screen.

The iPhone x haven't even got a 3.5mm head phone jack and it most likely can't even take a micro SD card...

Plus it also doesn't have an S pen ;)

Weirdly, just as everyone else seems to talk of going from the iPhone to some Android device or other, I'm half tempted to go the other way.

Don't get me wrong, I like Android, its my favourite Mobile OS. However, it always seems to me that the only version of Android that is anything like as slick and polished as iOS is Vanilla on the Pixel.

Naturally, this means my natural choice of phone to replace my SGS7E is the PXL2. However, the PXL2 does not appear to have dual lenses, or a headphone jack, and yet is rumoured to be going to cost just £50 less than the iPhone X (admittedly for 128Gb). So I would expect properly top drawer specs for that price, but it looks like we're to be disappointed.

As the owner of a Samsung, the phone has been pretty good, but is full of bloatware and sub-standard software implementations. It doesn't really run as fast as a phone of its specs should - we can blame TouchWiz for that I suspect. Ergo I wont be buying a new Samsung phone. Shame really as I think the current hardware looks stunning.

I would imagine the same complaints could probably be levelled towards LG which has a similar TouchWiz-esque interface.

I could I suppose look at a OnePlus phone which has a largely Vanilla OS, but having had one before, it was glitchy phone and their customer service left a hell of a lot to be desired.

I could have course buy a second hand PXL1 but why would I want to go sideways?

Whether I like to admit it or not, iOS is very streamlined, refined and smooth, and the phones feature ridiculously fast processors to go with its nimble OS resulting in a very very fast UX, and I think this sort of optimisation is under-rated in all honesty.

So yeah, I might consider going Apple for a while.

I agree 100%

Word of warning though. Switching phones is easy. Switching ecosystems isn't. Just be mindful of what services you use as using a lot of Google apps on an iPhone isn't as streamlined as on an android.

Unless you are willing to go all in. Then being a multi device iOS user brings even more benefits.

One thing I have learnt over the last few weeks is that there isn't a perfect phone.

Yeah I’m aware of the differences, I have an iPad as well which I like. I run google apps on it and for the most part seems ok. You’re right though there is no perfect phone, BUT, if my work decide they will offer the iPhone 8 plus as a work phone I could be tempted as it’ll only cost me £8 a month with no upfront cost!

Processor, camera and faceid technology. Can't think of another phone which trump's it.

Oh right, by advanced I thought you meant technology which does not already exist and has done for years.

Faceid we will have to wait to see how good it is, the keynote did not really go well for displaying this tech.

You'd think all these companies making phones there is a perfect one somewher...

I guess the bar is constantly moving, it would be the perfect phone for 2 mins until someone comes out with a better screen, faster CPU. bigger battery, thinner bezel.
i wish that was the only reason there wasn't a perfect phone, we seem to be heading further away from such a device in many aspects.

Well, I think the iPhone 6 that I had was perfect. I swapped to Android because partly human want more than needs. I want a bigger screen, I want something that runs a bit faster. All of these phones are phones, they all make calls fine, but it's the other bits and pieces that we want improved on. Like the new phone I got, it is missing the NFC, that's nothing to do with phones and weirdly, in some countries this feature is totally useless, like Japan, a lot of places don't even take old fashion credit cards never mind Apple/Android Pay.

well im hopping that eve will do a phone once their tablets go into full production, as i think they have got close to perfection as posisble.

no excuse not to have like 6000mah batteries these days, or dual front speakers, waterproof, somesort of kickstand, waterproof etc. even the new £1000 phones fall far short of my idea of a perfect phone and yet i bet the specs i want would be half that cost.
