Which news sources do you follow?

Recently I've been reading BBC news and The Guardian but I'm finding them a bit lacklustre. I used to read the Finacial Times but it is £59 a month which I can't really afford at the moment.

I've signed up for a service called Ground News which seems interesting but I'm not sure if it is worth paying for just yet.

I'd also love to sign up to New Scientist but obviously that is just STEM.

So where do you get your news and information from?
I always got the impression that the readers of The Financial Times were middle class with high paid jobs in the finance industry. So when you state that £59 pcm is unaffordable then it makes a mockery of my idea of an FT reader.

I read the BBC news Internet

I'm interested in business which is why I like the FT. I've been planning on starting one for awhile now.

The FT is great for in depth reporting and thought provoking columnists - Janan Ganesh in particular. The comments section also attracts intelligent debate from different viewpoints, although unfortunately is closed for anything remotely controversial such as the Middle East. I just renewed for something like £150 for the year after I turned off auto renewal (so they offered me a discount) and got some Amex spend credit, so you shouldn't be paying anywhere near £59/month.

I also subscribe to the Times which covers a wider range of topics (the FT is mainly business and politics), and read BBC News.

NY times and economist alongside the guardian/bbc. I like the NYT global coverage and long form articles. Clearly a lot of US centric news but most things relevant at a US national level are relevant here. Addition of Athletic / Wirecutter / Cooking make it great value (often £20 a year for new subscribers). Economist I like the fact it’s weekly so less focus on never ending breaking news and goes more in depth.

Foreign affairs is interesting for the odd article (essays really!)

Just watch BBC at 6pm. They have a blind reporter doing on site reporting at the moment. Also that big handsome chap that does the American reporting. Miss Sian Williams on in the mornings

I usually watch the BBC or Ocuk for national news. For local news, I follow a few NI journalists on X. My partner has pretty much stopped watching, reading, and listening to the news and feels better for it.

If I do watch any and that is rare, I take what they report with a pinch of salt and totally steer clear of ch4 news and anything else that leans towards the left.

Better off now asking some gossip boards on social media for more accurate reporting of news events.
