Which news sources do you follow?

Normally skim BBC news but I find it to be limited interest mostly. There also seems to be a bit too much opinion and not enough detail in the reported material (especially TV reporting).

I bought a copy of the FT fairly recently and it was refreshing to read well written and interesting articles but I too can't justify paying for it regularly.

I also recommend you check out Patrick Christys tonight on GB News for the entertainment.

Bbc website is generally good. The guardian can be OK, but feels a bit lightweight sometimes.

I have an Economist subscription, and it's well worth it. Their standards put everyone else to shame.

Or just they have opinions that align with your own? I jest of course.

Hehe, I often disagree with their editorial pieces, but the quality of their writing and research is fantastic.

Favourite article: an analysis of the tattoos of US prisoners from their admission records, compared against their convictions.

I periodically watch the local news.
I'd rather hear about Dave from Sleaford who had his balls nipped by a goose, than whatever depressing ***** is happening in the wider world.

Another vote for Ars. Couple of YT channels for the same kinda thing as Ars. Brave browser gives some headlines from various sites of choice, but rarely click on any, and GD will let me know if we're under attack.

E: Radio 4 on occasion, but that's mostly discussion based

I'll check the odd youtube video uploaded by whichever news outlet for more general stuff, but I don't follow any of them and I certainly would never subscribe to their websites at cost.

They're all full of it, journalistic integrity nose dived a long time ago, they're all just making you pay for whatever nonsense they spew.

In terms of tech there's a handful I do follow but for different reasons, LTT I find entertaining, Gamers Nexus I think do solid breakdowns even if I find the host boring as sin, as well as a bunch of others. I more or less avoid anything audio related as they're all barmy as hell, lying through their teeth, or utterly deluded to the point of insanity.

I actually had a sub to New Scientist a long time ago but I felt their quality in relation to certain topics dropped heavily so I dropped it.

/me wonders how many of the people in here have said BBC have also posted in theTV licence thread. That would be an interesting cross-reference ;)

Outing yourself with those IRC-X commands, assuming that's what they are :D

I don't pay for the TVL and I'm pretty anti-licence fees, but I legitimately don't use them.
