Which programming course to go for?! Java or Visual Basic?

If you ever plan on getting a job that requires excel use do vb otherwise do java

I know you weren't talking to me, but I'll reply anyway

It was good, fairly shallow learning curve until the final third when it ramped up a bit. All entirely do-able though, unless you turn up for the final exam the day after the exam took place. But I'm sure you won't be that stupid.

Another vote for Java.

Should you wish to progress to .NET development using a decent language, C# is a miniscule step from java compared to VB.

It's significantly more difficult than VB though. I went from a VB/php/pascal background to Java and it was hard to get going with all the OOP theory
