Hi Guys,
Need a bit of advice.
Just been GIVEN an ASUS P5Q Deluxe motherboard by a good mate, BNIB. I know this is a cracking board and still retails for around £150 as far as I'm aware. So, I'm looking for a Quad Core CPU to put in this thing.
Would I be better off going for the Q6600 (1066 FSB) and just overclock the nuts off it or should I get the Q9550 (1333 FSB) and just overclock that a little?
Differences:
1> FSB - 1066 vs 1333. Will that be negated by any overclock?
2> Cache 8MB vs 12MB - will another 4MB of L2 cache make that much difference when gaming?
3> Price obviously - around £70 quid saving if I go for the Q6600. But I'd rather spend the extra money if the performance will suffer noticeably.
Cheers guys
