Which Razer

Do NOT get a Deathadder, i'll go as far as saying do not get a 'new' mouse.

Get another Diamondback, seriously. I tried the Copperhead, Deathadder and MX518 and they both ANNOYINGLY track when you lift your mouse a little and move in to the centre of your pad. (Your aim moves).

Don't get this with the Diamondback and it's a mouse I can never fault really. My Copperhead never got used for more than 15 minutes, exactly the same case with my Deathadder.

(If you play with a low sens you move your mouse about a lot)

Thats true though i suppose the easy way to remidy that is slowley highten the in game sensitivity, i like to be able to go full circle in about 2 inch of movemant so isnt a problem for me.

That's far too high, I can pretty much gaurentee you'll be able to ainm better if you lowered your sensitivity.

I'll probably just get a new Diamondback when this one breaks rather than use my Deathadder.

logitech G5 all the way

I went from a diamondback to a logitech g5 and haven't looked back since :)

Advice:
No matter what mouse you go for give it atleast a week if not a month of constant use, I found a lot of people are scared off different mice because they feel different or act different, thats just because your hand and brain are use to a specific one, this is mainly where the "wrongness" comes from

I ditched my diamondback because it was the second one where one of the buttons failed and when I switched to the logitech g5 on advice from a friend I hated it, I went so far as to call up my friend and tell him just what I thought, started listing all the good points about my razer, but he was a good friend and asked me to promise and try the new mouse for a week, no switching back no trying another do everything with it.

I did and by the end of the week it felt completely natural its quirks its abilities felt like home, now when I pick up my old diamondback it just feels wrong :)

Copperhead all the way...used Diamondback then migrated to copperhead which I found much more accurate and precise. Not sure what this laser skipping thing is,,I have never hhad such a thing happen to me, I too use the Razor exacta mat and rest...perhaps your surface needs replacing ??

If you can't wait pick up a G7 or G5, they are fantastic mice, well priced and are reliable, something that can't be said for razers. (got through 3 copperheads, 2 hp1's, 2 deathadders)

Logitech MX518 ;)

comfy and awesome, all in one mouse!

i've had mine since launch and i still don't want another mouse!

Another vote here for the MX518, excellent mouse, very comfortable. Had it for a good couple of years now and still perfect.

Can probably pick them up quite a bit cheaper than i paid, got it from pc shop when i was up north and set me back 45 quid.

i used to fancy a mx revolution but i think that was mainly down to the quirkyness of its desighn and the sleak look it has but wireless has allways put me off and my friend purchases a wireless set from microsoft wich wasnt a cheap one either wich was also harendously inaccurate and jerky with severe driver issues to

It's a well known fact that Razer mice with lasers skip . The skipping happened on my desktop at first so I bought the Exact mat and it continued so it's not the surface, it's the mouse. I looked at people's remarks about the skipping and boy was I not alone!!.

I hope this is not going to be the case with the 3G laser used in Lachesis.

My dad fixed my Diamondback, used one of the switches from a side button so my right side no longer works which is fine, i can now wait for the Lachesis, also whats with 4000fpi is it the sensetivity or accuracy?

If its a well known fact Laser Razers skip its news to me, few mates have 3g Diamondback and think its superb never had any problems, but also i never really thought why laser was needed.

i cant see why ud need 4000fpi tbh. Whats wrong with what you got now?

Side buttons dont work which i only use 2 for games but do help, right click button has a dint in it where dropped the metal on it.

I just feel like a new mouse ^_^, or could get the new keyboard..

Also cheers for the link Smurfy

Ninja Edit i found out i only need 6.4" meaning 4000dpi isnt really needed unless have a really steady hand, think the deathadder will be a better buy, use my diamondback for laptop.

I wasn't saying you dont need a mouse. I just dont understand as to who needs a mouse so accurate as 4000fpi. The death adder is more accuracy then ill ever really need. Ive been playing fps on a crappy logi tech one for 3 years. And its never ever held me back, to me it seems more of an acuse for people to blame their mouse over the fact they simply cant aim lol. Well ive yet to play a game with this mouse yet but going on peoples reasons for doing badly i should never miss a head shot again considering i rarely do anyway with the crappy one lol.

copperhead all the way, I've got one for each of my systems, my accuracy on fps's has improved no end with this mouse, also more importantly with the polling rate set to a 1000mhz the input lag on my secondary system's screen (samsung 215tw) has been cut down quite considerably, before using this mouse on the sammy panel I just couldn't play fps's now it's very acceptable, if your looking to try and cut your panel's input lag a touch then this mouse could a worth while investment.

my polling rate is at 500mhz. Should i put it up? i just found out how to get into the firmware which it claimed failed to install but i found an icon on my tray lol.

it's all down to personal preference mate, I have mine set to 1000mhz polling rate (I think 1ms) and I've definitely noticed an improvement in regards to input on my Sammy panel.
