Which SSD

Hi,

I've been asked by my cousin which SSD would be best for him, he has an ASUS P5Q-PRO motherboard which only supports SATA 3GB's.

I am not 100% sure whats hot at the moment, he will be using it for OS and gaming, under £100. 120GB? 256GB?

If you could recommend me one that you be great.

check out mx100, they are cheap and very cheerful at the moment. Although i will do a quick google search before you buy as there may be cheaper ones.... ;p

You can get a 250GB Samsung Evo for around £85.

The only thing I'd say the mx100 is the poor write speed,,, 150mbs compared to the awesome read of 550mbs.

Tad slower read, but higher write. Overall better in my opinion for £50.

I`ve installed doazens of Samsung SSDs, EVOs and the older 830/840s.

Not a single problem with any of them.

Performance is great (you can argue over slight differences in read/write speeds, but in the real world all modern SSDs are fast).

I know where my £85 would be spent.

I have no vested interest in Samsung, apart from hoping that the SSDs that I`ve installed remain reliable.

I just ordered one of these for £41 i think it will good for htpc
