Just bought an LSI 9240-4i raid controller and want a fast array to store my games

Which SSD would you recommend? I heard that you need one that supports garbage collection in RAID0 which i think the Corsair Performance Pro does

Any other options?

4 disks? Is that really needed? to be honest, not sure you'd notice the difference between 2 and 4 disk!

Aside from that, not sure what disks you would need, but at the end of the day RAID0 doesn't support TRIM so yeah, you would need disks that support on disk garbage collection. or forget TRIM :p

If you really want to raid ssds I would suggest drives with background garbage collection like the corsair performance pro. It runs from the drive itself so is perfect for raid or operating systems like xp that dont support trim. It's also a very quick drive mine scores 875 in as ssd.

drives that are capable of restoring their parameters without TRIM are great for those applications where TRIM simply doesn’t work at all. Namely, they are strongly recommended for RAID arrays or operating systems that don’t support TRIM command, such as Windows XP, FreeBSD with ZFS or Mac OS X

Look at the 30mins idle bar here, shows the effect of the background garbage collection compared to a post trim drive.
