Which sub and amp?

If you can get a nice JL set up for good money (look at mint cond second hand stuff) I'd go that route having had many set up's over the years.

I've got a JL Basswedge 12" and JX250/1 monoblock amp sitting here waiting for me to fit it to something again, I didn't want to sell as I got a mega bargain and it's a great little set up for how little power it actually runs. Deep, tight and controlled when playing kick drums and chunky bass lines. Not heard much for this kind of budget anywhere near on par.

The Rockford set up's I find to be very harsh hard bass. Depends on your ears and music tastes ultimately though.

Vibe stuff is just cheap, lesser quality kit and are not that reliable in the sense of the in-built amps are prone to failure but you can get refurb stuff from "Audio Repair Centre" on the bay, which are Midbass repair arm and sell fixed stuff cheap :)
 
Would do the job, but I really recommend looking second hand. I paid £100, delivered, for the kit I mentioned above in mint condition, would have been near on £300 in the shops.
