Which US hire car?

To me it just feels like a generic full-size with less doors, an epic engine and better styling. They are massively over priced to rent given the retail price on them. My Cadillac last year was the same price new and 200 quid a week.

The Corvette however is genuinely special.

Agree with this. I've hired both a mustang gt and a Corvette. The mustang felt like a huge saloon with a half decent engine but was otherwise nothing special. The corvette is a great sports car and feels like a very special car to drive.

When will you be in Vegas?

My eta for Vegas is 12-17th October, depending on where I go and what I'm doing.

flying to LA on the 4th and return on the 18th, haven't organised an itinerary just yet know were we want to go just need to confirm how long at each stop and the dates, My oldman and I are going, he wants to go to Yuma Arizona then phoenix and then up to monument valley ( forrest gump country ).

Then across to vegas > fresno > Oakland CA but will go to SF > drive down the pacific coast highway to san luis obispo and then finally back down to LA.

First time I've been back to the states since 1998 when I went to NY. Should be a nice return, I think vegas will probably be near the middle of the following week.

Regarding that C6 Vette forsale, it says it's brand new on a 2013 model? it doesn't state the mileage so is it a hertz car that wasn't used or what?

I have a v6 mustang with dollar for next month out of LA. To rent the corvette for 16 days costs £1380. A bit too expensive for me

I've purposely avoided dollar due to bad reviews they have received on the likes of the American yelp review site and trip advisor. The only decent rental company appears to be alamo. Avis is another that gets ****ged off due to people having to queue in line for over an hour, for a booking that's all ready been made online.

The Arizona State fair is on from October 10. I haven't decided whether to go or not.
My trip starts on the 8th with a couple of days in LA (cousins) then a couple more in SJ (more cousins). After that I've got a week to myself and fly home on the 19th. :)

Vettes for sale - scroll down and you'll see all the ex-rental Hertz cars.
