IE8, IE has come of age now.

Tried Chrome and FF and to be frank they don't seem any faster on my system (in fact Chrome was a lot slower) If there is a difference then it's too small to assertain. And in terms of features there's not a lot in it either.

Did you try using beta versions? They're much better imo :D

Chrome at home, I only go back to FF or IE for very specific tasks like website bug testing. I find FF to be a really ugly browser now and feels very bloated and slow after chrome. IE is just such a joke.

If you don't like the default Mozilla Firefox theme, you can quite easily change it. Have a look at this thread here to change the default theme to a much more slicker one. If you don't like that particular theme, then there are plenty of others about.

The primary reason to use Mozilla Firefox is due to the large extension database so you can customize it to your exact liking. :)

Firefox. I think Chrome might be the future and it's a great replacement for IE, but for now, I just feel lost in it. Interface is great, but the address bar is rubbish compared to Firefox's, the bookmarks and history functionality is lightweight and most of the extensions feel ropey. Classic example is Adblock for Chrome, which only seems to remove ads after they've been rendered - almost as annoying as just having the ads, and doesn't make the page load any quicker.

Firefox. I tried hard to like Chrome but I had serious issues with it. Well not it but any WebKit based brower (Safari too) has a 50/50 chance of killing DWM on my machine and means if I tab out to another app it will take down the system. Only fix is logging out or rebooting which is incredibly annoying.

I was an opera user untill I updated to 10.51 a few days ago. It stopped the theme I was using from working (which was the best looking theme), it screwed up tons of stuff and added tons of bugs.

I'm trying to make the move to firefox but I think it is retarded how limited its options are. I can't move the tabs bar down to the bottom, or adjust the hotkeys to what I'm used to, firefox forces it's way of doing things on the user with limited ways of customizing it. If I can't get used to firefox I'll have to try and find and installer for an old version of opera.

Limited customisation? Customisation in Firefox is almost unlimited. The built-in functionality isn't as wide as Opera, but there's not much you can't do with extensions. It's just a different way of doing things. I'm pretty sure the Tab Mix Plus extension will move the tabs to the bottom (alongside lots of other things!) I'd be surprised if there's not an extension to adjust hotkeys as well.

I have tried and tested each of the main browsers.

Chrome is now my main browser
The browser is really subtle meaning I view webpages within it and not the web browser
The open tab features are much better
The search bar built into the address bar is much much better than the Firefox bar
It has the main extensions I like and the best one being the integration with Google apps

I use IE when I must (cursed IE 6)

I have just started using Opera and I have to say it is on par with Chrome and could quite easily take over as my main browser

I used to use Firefox (the extensions got me), but it just got to slow and took up to much desktop space

My ranking of the main browsers goes
  • Chrome
  • Opera
  • Firefox
  • IE

I use FF on everything, even on my netbook. I hate chrome almost as much as IE, just can't get on with the layout and lack of customizing at all.
