Which Web Browser?

Do you realise what you have started? :D I use Opera personally but Chrome is another popular choice. Give them all a go and stick with what works best for you.

It's like asking which AV - one look at the sticky will tell you that no one agrees with anything! :p

All the major browsers have the same features - fast page loads, tabs, extensions yadda yadda *snore*.

My preference is Firefox. Weirdos like phil use Opera. Some use Chrome and spastics use Safari.

I find Internet Explorer faster than Firefox but both are slower than Chrome.
Chrome is lightweight and has minimal features while Opera has many many features including some server side technology.

Personally though I don't use such features as I have other stuff to do that for me, therefore use chrome. As you probably know IE is very susceptible to virus' and malware.

Never used Safari, so can't comment, just try them all and see which one you like.
I also dislike the poor themes for firefox.

I use Opera by preference due to speed and how lightweight it is. However I have issues with Flash and incompatibility therefore always have Chrome open at the same time.

However Chrome doesn't save groups of sessions......

You can right off ANY Microsoft Browser right of the bat.

Its taken them years and years, dragging their heels to bring out a standards complaint browser.... and they will alwasy be behind the pack here any way, as Microsoft ideally would not be implementing open source web standrds by rather their on unsecure, propriatary close source swiss cheese standards.

But worst of all, is the security. Microsft have in the past left gaping holes in 6, 7 and 8 which didnt get a patch untill years later.

Firefox is my preference. Currently playing with FF4 which should be out soon.

Takes the user interface of chrome and adds it to the already good bits of the firefox community such as add ons, open source and secure.

What i like about Firefox, is that they are proactive about security. If some thing gets revealed as unsecure, they are pretty pronto in patching it.

Chrome is ok. Its faster than firefox, but 2 things I do not like about it is the UI is poor, and I dont like the fact its owned by google.

Firefox has all the good bits of chrome, and none of the bad, in my opinion.

Truely open source, community driven browser. As the internet should be.

simples.

pmsl ;) Ive got a good sense of humour SiriusB, ive been married a long long time :D

My question has opened a can of worms but the difference of opinion is very interesting.

Im currenlty using both IE8 and Chrome.

I find Chrome is quick but lacks some of the features that I like in IE8.

Have used firefox, its ok but is very slow to load on my machine.

I would try them all and see which best meets your own needs.
