Which Web Browser?

As SiriusB mentioned at the beginning of the thread, your best bet would be to download the most well known web browsers, use them all for a little while and see which one you prefer. The fact that not everyone uses the exact same web browser kind of indicates it's down to the individual.

I use chrome, I find it the most sleek, usable and quick. Haven't run any extensive tests but I find it the most enjoyable to use.

I use Chrome almost exclusively now that it has Adblock Plus - I find it far faster to load and use than the alternatives.

If I couldn't use Chrome, I would use Firefox - I was a die-hard advocate of it for many years and still use it a couple times a week because it has a couple addons that Chrome doesn't have... yet.

I am forced to use IE at work, but find it to be bloated and slow.

I try Safari and Opera every now and again, but I just can't get on with them at all.

...All the browsers have problems with some web sites, regardless of how 'perfect' some people would have you believe their chosen browser is.

Easiest just to have them all installed.

Chrome + Speed dial extension and a few other choice addons is my preference. Fastest browser I've used. I did use Opera for a long time and switched to using Chrome tail end of last year. I've also dabbled with Safari which was good for a while until it all of a sudden, despite repeated uninstalls / reinstalls, It fell flat on it's face and crashed repeatedly.

I've used Firefox for years and after giving Chrome a try last month couldn't find any reason to change.

The number of extensions / customisation for Firefox is much greater, and although Chrome is meant to be faster, trying it on most websites I use I didn't notice any difference, it even felt slower on several.

I still use ie 6 :o It loads so much faster than all the modern ones and I like being able to switch between IE and Windows Explorer in the same window (I have certain directories bookmarked). I take various measures to help security, as I know it's not as strong as FF etc and seem to do ok - I've only had one or two malware come through in the past 3 years or so.
Still, it could do with tabs. Is there a tabbed IE6 clone out there with more modern security?

Glad you like seeing websites like they are 10 years out of date...
But to answer your question, nope. And I seriously doubt anyone would bother.
And also, you obviously haven't used Chrome, that loads in seconds

Well I do have FF installed and do use it on occasion. I think your comment is something of an exaggeration, the vast majority of sites (at least that I visit) appear the same.

Possibly...and it was slightly tongue in cheek mate...
However, it was IE6 that was used to hack Google, and even MS want to see the back of it. It's not supported by loads of sites any more though...

However, the serious point is people like you are holding back sites big time, with a browser that really is pants standards wise.

I used to use Opera 10 as it had really great features but it used way too much memory so switched to Firefox which was ok and now I'm using Chrome which is very lightweight and fast but the UI is rubbish. Once FF4 comes off beta I will try that but after trying the beta version it kept crashing my pc which was hassle so I'm happy to wait. I tried Opera 11 but it just felt sluggish.
