Which Web Browser?

+1 for Firefox 4 beta. It's very Chrome-esque in looks, but has way better features, is just as fast, and is just... better. :p It makes Chrome look like something from the 90s, while still retaining the overall minimalist look 'n' feel. :D

Chrome did to Firefox, what firefox did to IE. Inother words, gave it a kick up the backside.

Its good to have a browser war between vendors. We all gain.

Choose Firefox or Chrome as your browser. Both good.

FF4 beta > Chrome > Opera > multiple IE because it's such a pain in the ass and I have to see what a complete and utter mess it makes of sites that work in everything else.
Throw in android's mobile browser and safari on ipod/ipad/iphone...

I intended to try all the popular ones, got to FF and Chrome then settled on Chrome!

Keep meaning to try the IE9 beta

Really? IE 9 with it's hardware acceleration, internet protected mode integrated into UAC, etc is far ahead and now the other browsers are catching up in fact didn't Fire Fox 4 just announce delays? You think Fire Fox doesn't have vulnerabilities? It took them ages to patch the last major vulnerability and every browser will have vulnerabilities.

And still not playing ball with some standards? Each to their own, I don't like IE much but V9 hasn't made me change yet. I use FF for the add-ons (look after the Overclockers extension for example) but I'm used to it now. I fully agree all browsers have vulnerabilities and FF is as bad or good as the rest!

You can pick and choose bits from each browser. I prefer the way tabs are stacked in Opera compared to tab Panorama in Firefox, however the awesome bar is just plain awesome. It feels really clunky using anything else. That being said, Chrome is lightening fast, but IE9 has the best hardware acceleration.

The Firefox 4 RC is scheduled for next week, but going by their bug countdown website, it should be good to go nowish.

Oddly enough I really like the firefox 4 beta but I just can't use it. As mentioned before, it has the speed and looks of chrome with the functionality of firefox. Good package rolled into one. It does however cause my desktop to hang like a 21 day matured steak, whilst on my laptop it works perfectly. Perhaps a fresh install of windows onto a Vertex3 will solve my issues.

If you want proper ad blocking there is just one choice, Firefox.

AdBlock (with the usual EasyList etc) is available for Chrome and Safari these days, including its user customisable entries, right click context menu 'block this ad' entry etc. There's no real difference between them though I'm still a Firefox fanboy personally.
