I've been looking at the O2 XDA Mini S

are they any good ?

and crucially is there anything better that i should be looking at ?
 
is the Trion better than the mini then

and what are the faults with the mini ?

*edit* MDA Vario is £250 @ CPW

ouch bit too much. At least the XDAs are under £100

The xda flame is coming out in feb/march, definatley worth a look if you don't mind something in a 3.6" screen size. You can get new xdas without a contract on ebay.

the newer version of the xda mini s is the vario 2/spv m6000(?)/qtek v1605, better camera, 3g and more

strangely hadnt seen this, as O2 webby doesnt have the Trion on it

I had the Orbit but sold it, was just too annoying with no keypad for me anyway. Was a nice device and a good size, but texting [especially when drunk] was just too much hassle. Going to go for a p990i instead I think!

Doing the same with mine, what did you get/can I expect for mind. Its brand new, not evenout the box, just whent of the idea.
 
best deal i've found is with T mobile

phone for £80.

line rental £27.50 a month for unlimited internet browsing and £60 call allowance with T-mobile. Works out about 300 minutes.

pretty much unlimited

if you go over the 1gb (unlikely) they will first ask you to reduce your usage. Its not a case of anything over 1gb and then its £1/mb or whatever

and are you really going to use 1gb in a month if all your doing is web browsing mobile sites and e-mail ?
 
If you're buying the phone outright, rather than getting one via a contract, I suggest the Mio A701 with an unofficial ROM upgrade. It's what I have now after trying iMate K-Jam - keyboard too small, Qtek 9000 (aka JasJar) - too big and Orange SPVC600 (free upgrade from P900, still have this as a spare) - not really suitable.
 
I've had an SPV M500, and am now using a vario 2. My advice is go for something with 3G, I hardly used any online stuff with the m500, I use the Vario 2 a lot.

WM5 is worth the upgrade, the interface is much nicer, though it doesn't seem as stable. I like slide out keyboards now, but they do make the phones a bit bigger, next time i'll probably give the keyboard a miss and put up with the on screen one for the smaller phone.

The C600 is good, unless your trying to install satnav, then good luck. otherwise i have had mine for over 12 months and its not bad, camera is a little poor, but for phone use and bubble breaker, great!

good battery power and good talk time, imo.

But i think the phone is at least 2 years old so would only recomend it as a back up not as a main phone any more. the M3100 looks good, but be warned, orange will try and get £150 out of you unless you go 18 month with them and then its only £4.99 lol....

If you cant wait till March, the N95 looks great!
