Which would be best?

I have a Seagate BARRACUDA drive 7200-RPM SATA 250 GB - ST3250620AS

and I also have a Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKS)

Which would be best for speed as an OS drive (XP) do we think?

Or is the difference in real term performance minimal?

The real world difference will be less than minimal, even in benchmarks those two drives are pretty much the same.
