Which WW2 FPS?

I know its not fps but Company Of Heroes is fantastic particularly if you like WW2 stuff. Its hard to get into but its the only game where I can actually play as a german.

Well gonna give Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway a try, saw it online for £4.99 - so can't really complain, but can't say where because they are a competitor. So I'll see what it's like and if it isn't what I am hoping for I think I'll give COD:WAW a try. Only thing is I can't seem to find COD:WAR anywhere relatively cheap.

Oh I also tried out Medal of Honor Airborne demo today (I played it before but forgot what it was like) and I was pretty impressed but I can see how it might get really repetitive over other WW2 games. The sound fx in the game were pretty damn amazing though.

get H&D2, you could probably find the full retail version for about 5 quid.

I am a massive Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 fanboy. As you don't rule out non fps WW2 games then this must definately be aquired. It is more of a strategy game although you can take direct control of the units to shoot stuff. I think it is an absolutely fantastic game, the graphics are so detailed and really add to the WW2 feeling throughout. It has two seqels too, Faces of war and Men of War.

Well I don't necessarily disregard strategy games, it's just I haven't really been into them for a while. I used to play a lot of the Close Combat games. I may take you up on your suggestion about Solider: Heroes of WW2 though.

No.

How exactly did one part of the game ruin the total experience? Its obviously meant to be an armoured up soldier wielding an mg42, though it has to be said they did a crap job with the armour.

As they could take six grenades. There was no need for them at all.

I found the AI a little shocking in places, but still worth the £20 or whatever I paid.
