Alas no, but I've been hunting through the more reputable parts of AliExpress for years now and I see promising things there. The specific white COB strip I referred to I got on Amazon.

Direct links would be seen as competitor linking though.
Ah right, seen the white ones in the rainforest, just not seen an addressable one - which I consider essential in all things LED these days....! I have a backup plan though, I can etch a groove and mount the LEDs from the other side (ie make the groove smaller and let the LEDs shine through the crack!)

I think that looks magnificent. Walnut will look great and I love the side panel design, it reminds me of Willow.

If you are going to use 4x NVME drives might I make a suggestion? Those drives are going to be cooked sitting around a 4090 and will most likely end up thermal throttling as I found out with just a 3070 and a single gen 3 drive and single gen 4 drive. The Gen 4 drive was worst by some margin and Gen 5 drives are even worse. With that in mind I would suggest you invest in a pci-e riser and mount the card vertically on the base of the main compartment that holds the motherboard. It would also look good as you could see the card through the window.

Ooh that's an idea!!! I'll remind myself a bit of it! :D

Ah brilliant tip, I would have missed that - will take that on board. Assume there's no fiddling about the motherboard channels or limits etc? I've gone for an Asus ProArt - which seems to locate some near the bottom already?

I think pastymunchers's suggestion is to mount the 4090 on the riser, not the NVMEs. There are cards available that take four NVME drives in a PCIE slot, Asus do one, but it looks like it would only work in the 1st slot as that is the only one that supports 4x/4x/4x/4x bifurcation.

Loving the idea so far also, keep on thinking about making cases but never get too far as my ideas immediately outstretch my abilities!

Yeah also think Pastymuncher meant the gpu
But have seen people use an extra long riser cable
And mount those asus hyper cards
Behind the motherboard
In your case may be able to do something
Where it could have a separate chamber or something
Though its added cost

And leds shining through a crack/groove
Sounds good
Or some sort of diffuser
Those cob ones mentioned may suffer less
As lot more leds/or less distance between each led
But normal strips the thing I hate
Is seeing the individual leds/hotspots
Ended up sticking carbon fibre vinyl on my side panel
So the strips aren't visible
Just the glow from them

The point is this won't work for 4x NVME drives in the hyper card, unless the hyper card is in the first PCIE slot - see here for more detail.

With the hyper cards, PCIE bifurcation is required on the motherboard to split from x16 down to 4x4 so each NVME can be used.

There are cards which have a PLX controller onboard so that bifurcation on the motherboard is not required, but these are more expensive.

Ah right, sorry - get what you mean now - makes total sense (I was watching another video where Linus was running 200TB of NVMe drives at faster than RAM speeds through a PCI card, so thought that's what you meant!)

Yes, I was pondering mounting the GPU separately - I know there's issues with the weight on the card anyway (not sure how 'mythical' these are) - was planning to create a support anyway if need be. Will have to think about what works best - I think in a way I want the PC bits to actually be less prominent and more let the case itself shine a bit, so really it boils down to thermal impact of different positions and if it's significant or not.... hmmm!

Some sort of organic looking gpu support
Would look great
If it was visible through the side panel

not sure about the weight with a 4090
It's definitely an issue with my 3080ti
With a front and active backplate waterblock
The things a behemoth

Yeah I didn't read the motherboard manual
To see where all the pcie lanes went

As Katie279 has said, that's a great idea. Along with the Willow theme. I'm envisaging tree trunks and branches. In my mind anyway! I wouldn't have a clue how to actually accomplish it! :o

Yep so was I
The artistic part of creating it
I am pretty positive katie279 is way way superior
To my pathetic artistic skills
So it's lucky I can just fire out ideas
But I don't actually have to make them reality lol

Already sorted! Easy to do - exactly as you describe, only thing I need to think about is if there's any other spots it'd look good.

Bit like gardens, if you put one plant in your garden it looks odd/out of place, if you put two or three of the same in different spots, it looks like a design...!

Well I'm in the naughty book again, but I've got all the bits to begin....! (and I've blamed all of you forumites for persuading me to go for the upgrades of everything!   )

I'm almost there with the design of the case - it's hard to visualise as so much depends on lighting, reflection, layers and so on, but will post a few shots tomorrow of where I'm up to if it's of interest!

If you want out the naughty books
Just send all that to me
I will happily take standing in the naughty corner
Holding all those components

Yep we are looking forward to see
What you come up with
Most builds in the forums are pretty regular stuff
Very few likely to be like what you are going
To make to impress us :)
