The White Stripes would like to announce that today, February 2nd, 2011,
their band has officially ended and will make no further new recordings or perform live.

The reason is not due to artistic differences or lack of wanting to continue, nor any
health issues as both Meg and Jack are feeling fine and in good health.

It is for a myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve What is beautiful and special about
the band and have it stay that way.

A girl at work keeps telling me they weren't brother & sister but were married at one time!!!
I suppose from where they came from they could have been both.

They're not siblings, but they were married...

I really like the White Stripes, but even I'm prepared to acknowledge that he was far and away the brains of the outfit. Her drumming ranged from passable to absolutely bloody awful. There's some of their tracks where she just goes off on one and is barely in time with herself let alone with Jack. The problem being that while she wasn't up to much, she was clearly his muse, and I wonder whether he'll do anything interesting apart from her.
