Who agrees with me on this!!

Bioshock looks like dog vomit when compared to the likes of crysis, there is no comparison, COD4 looks way better than it as well, most of bioshocks textures are appalling, nice water effects but that's it.

There's a huge difference between a game that looks good and a game that has advanced graphics. From what I've seen Bioshock is extremely marmite, and this is no doubt due to the fact that they so heavily invested in the player lapping up the style of the art direction.

Ok. I appreciate your opinions but I suppose it depends on what graphics settings your running it on.

I can't believe people are saying the graphics are crap.

I have been watching a rolling gameplay demo of Crysis & it doesn't look half as appealing. Maybe I will prove myself wrong when I play it.

bioshock is very very pretty, but its too doom3 ish. plastic looking I mean. I don't think its the prettiest game ever.

I do think Bioshock will take some beating visually so Crysis needs to be something special.

Well there's no doubting it really, Crysis does have superiour graphics. Textures are sharper, water is more realistic, the shadows are better, the models are far more detailed... I could go on and on. It is a fact that Bioshock has inferiour graphics, but of course that doesn't mean it'll look worse than Crysis.

Gears of War looks a lot better, on my gfx card anyho ( mere 6800GS), bioshock looked good, crysis beta & demo looked like **** on my gfx card, especially coz I had to keep it @ 800x600 to keep it playable.

So imo GoW>Bs>Crysis.

Will retry in 2 weeks when I can try on on a new gfx card :p.

Bioshock... all that hype, I installed the game the other week, it was a bore fest... 2 hours un-installed and back in the rack...Playing Timeshift and GoW at the moment and enjoying them immensely!!

It's (bioshock) the best visual design imo, Crysis is the best technically. GOW looks OK but the game sucks ass. Wish COD4 had better physics.

Wish COD4 had better physics.

Yeah I must say I did notice that quite a lot, although to be honest it didn't really matter, most of the time physics just gets in the way of game functionality or they work out some way to make a puzzle out of it ingeniously...

Haven't played much of BS yet but it looks decent, nothing mind blowing though. I've been a bit put off my the laggy mouse and vsync continually re-enabling itself - are they not gonna patch it for heaven's sake?

To be honest I haven't played anything yet that I would consider a massive leap forward like with saw in 2004 with FC, D3 and Source engines. The best looking game I've played is arguably Call of Juarez DX10, but it's a bit inconsistent, looks fantastic in places in terms of the vistas and foilage etc, but then you get close to some object like a barrel and it looks a bit rubbish.
