Gigi - I am Keith and i am 19 years old

I have lived in a quiet part of Edinburgh all my life, and i would say the best childhood possible, spending most of the day outside playing with mates, footy, water fights, hide n seek, manhunt etc. I feel sorry for kids nowadays who sit at home festering away infront of tv's and consoles.

Went to East Craigs Primary school and was the most fun time ever, won Football Player of the year 1996 \o/ and our team came second in the league, due to goal difference :( but loved primary school and still see some of the teachers 8-9 years later.

Went to Craigmount High School for 6years, left with 4 Highers, few Int.2's and 8 S.G's :) Now currently doing HND Computing Technical Support, hoping to go into 3rd year of Uni, or straight into employment... still to make my mind up.

College aint to bad, good fun, made a few good friends but sometimes getting out of bed to do programming is very hard, i hate programming with a passion, i just dont have a clue about it lol.

Best thing to have happened in my life, occured a year today, i started going out wiv Emma, and we are celebrating our 1year anniversary today (so happy :cool :D)

We've had plenty of ups & downs but everytime we come through a bad patch, we get stronger together, i wouldnt change the last 12months for anything, she is the love of my life and she means everything to me.

I see myself in the future hopefully in a respectable job with decent money, living in a lovely house with 2 cats, no kids!!! and having a very good standard of living. Time will tell though.

Thats all from me i guess :p

/Gigi

Slightly OT- Rilot, I have been to Ilfracome and Woolacombe a few times on my hols, and to the karting centre in barnstaple (near somerfields IIRC), I didnt realise you were born so far south.

I have been their loads of times!! My whole family have been going to Croyde bay for years, hopefully one day if I have kids I will be taking them down their just like my dad did with his, try and keep it in the family if you know what i mean!

I am Fry (John), Born September 21st 1987 in cambridgeshire.

I spent the first two years of my life in a rural area, living in an idylic cottage- I remember little of it but am told there were snakes, mice, birds and fish a'plenty \o/ At age 2 we moved to Spain, Madrid as my dad was working there in aerospace on a contract basis- lived there for 4 years and have very fond memories. Spain, or a similar country, is perhaps the greatest place to grow up if you are little and blonde- yee can get away with anything. Here I want to 'Newmont' infant school, an english private school, was acceptable but the first point at which I decided I detested school- the best part of it was a small sand pit in the far corner of the grounds were I built a fort.

We left Madrid after 4 years to France, Toulouse, again for work reasons. France compared to Spain is not, to be honest, quite as nice a place- however the food is exquisite and the thunderstorms memorable- plus we had a swimming pool, yaya. Hung about there for 2 years before moving to Egypt for similar reasons- stayed for a yearish, utterley wonderful place when your still young, magic all around.

Moved back then to England, Cambridgeshire with my mum- dad continuing to work abroad, they become divorced shortly afterwards. Have lived here ever since in a charming little village ideal for children, though not so ideal now you have to drive to get anywhere :p Went to Primary School, hated it- did very well but detested the structured learning, oft bribed to go in. Secondary School equally unpaltable, aced by GCSE's and got outta there- Sixth Form is much nicer but still not ideal.

I planeth to live abroad and travel often, cant see myself ever buying a house, might have a kid or two0 let em enjoy the childhood I had.

makeshiftwings - Jane, 18, Buckinghamshire, although I prefer Oxfordshire and as a result stay around there most of the time.

I live in what some say is the biggest village in the UK - but they lie, it's Kidlington - where all the historical buildings are made from this stuff called Wychert which crumbles and has horse hair in it or something.
Currently doing A-levels in English Lit, Media and Psychology. Have chosen Kent as firm but I really want to go to Lancaster now - feel as if I've made a big mistake.
I read - A LOT. If I'm not in the internet I'm reading. I can read anywhere - in a car, on a train, in the bath (though not the shower), in lessons, walking along, generally anywhere I get a chance.
Never lived anywhere other than my village, but have moved house once.
My main interests are ruined buildings, I seem to like them a lot. I get excited if I see the old railway shelter by a patch of new railway. I get excited if I see an abandoned house falling to pieces. I don't know why. Houses, however beautiful, if in perfect condition do not impress me at all. I guess I am just 'romantic' or whatever.
That's all you need to know really. Oh, and I'm going out with therandom.

GSXRMovistar – I am Andy (yes another one)

I’m 29 years old and currently live in Chafford Hundred (Essex) with my girlfriend (soon to be wife) Laura, we have been together for 5 years now and have a daughter Leah who is 10 months old, oh and a couple of French Bulldogs named Frank & George.

I was born in Essex and lived in Hornchurch until I was 18 when I packed my bags and went off to Hull where I spent three years at university doing a degree in Software Engineering.

After leaving uni I was sick of all things programming related (had been studying this for 7 years now) so I decided on change and accepted a server support role with a rather large American bank. I originally planned to stay there for a year then move onto somewhere new, whilst I’ve changed department a few times eight years have now passed and I’m still there (they keep dangling that cash carrot in front of me).

When I’m not working I have a variety of hobbies and interests, all if which seem to involve me spending cash (I get bored and like to buy things :D). My main interest was bike riding (motor not peddle) but over the past years I’ve been using my bikes for commuting so the thought of more riding at the weekend soon became a drag.

Other than bikes I’m into RC nitro cars (anything with an engine in it interests me), arcade games including building my own cabinets, and since moving to our latest house lots of DIY. But I can see my interest in this hobby soon wearing off, as the kitchen I’m putting in is becoming a right PITA.

Oh and I’ve forgotten my other keen hobby, drinking! Any excuse to get out with friends for a few beers is always good.

Well that’s me I think. :)

I lived in Wassenaar for 18 years. On the same street as your school actually - Rijksstraatweg. I know many many people who went to your school, although it was over 10 years ago, so I doubt you know any of them. Get hold of your year books for 1995 and I'll know a lot of them.

Wow, its a small world I guesse. Never would have expected to find someone whos been around here on these forums. I live right near the school, just a couple minutes walk. I was also here round 1991-1993 so at the same time I guesse, me just being a bit younger :p

IainB (ex Eazieb) – I am Iain…. So not sure where my username came from!
Born 01/06/1972 which made me 33 yesterday, live just outside Dunstable with my wife (younger than me…. Woot!) with our 2 young children.
Originally from Bedford, moved to Rushden around 4 / 5 years old, mum and dad got divorced, moved with my mum and step dad to be to another house in Rushden, before moving to Dunstable at around the age of 10.
Low boredom threshold, so didn’t enjoy school that much, left with reasonable grades into an aero engineering apprenticeship @ 16. Completed that and moved onto an office job where I got into the IT side (test analyst) around this time also started my own business DJ’ing progressing from mobile discos, to pubs, independent clubs then to Rank Leisure, found out around this time that working a day job then between 4 and 5 nights in the club wasn’t good for your health, ending up in hospital with heart issue’s (or was it all those girls throwing themselves at me…) along major regret there is not taking the Ibiza job I got offered. Ended up jacking all the nights in apart from Saturdays and carried on with the IT career, eventually becoming sys admin for the Inflight Systems along with 24/7 support.
Decided on a different company, unfortunately they turned out to be cowboys, left after 3 months, joining ICHell lasted 6 months due to issues between permies and contractors and joined T-Mobile. Worked my way through a couple of teams and now ensure that 15 million customers price plans do what they say on the tin.
In my spare time….. bit of a petrol head and currently spending WAY to much on a road legal drag car

Sup dudes :),

I'm Liam, I live in Reading and am 16 lovely years of age. I am currently doing my GCSE's (though not doing enough revision). After this year I will continue into sixth form at my school. I hope that I will be able to go to Bristol University, maybe studying to become a Vet or a lawyer, or anything really - I just wanna go to Bristol Uni (Best University FHM :p)! :)

I also think that during my life I would like to live in many different places, Tokyo and New York topping the list - I think it is important to experience life to the full as you only live once.

I would probably like to become a proffesional footballer more than anything though this is EXTREMELY unlikely, my chances at joining acadamies has gone and I only now realise how close I was to making it - though I won't stop trying.

I also think that I won't realise how important education is until it's too late. :(

I was born in Leiden in Holland

I often drive past Leiden when I'm going from Schipol to our office in Alphen aan den Rijn. I do like the nice smell coming from the brewery :)

Anyway, I'm Paul, 26 years old living just outside Northampton. I was born in 1979 in Newport Pagnell.

After leaving school in 1997 with 3 A-levels I went to Uni in Coventry (yeah, I know) but packed that in after about 18 months and went looking for a temporary job to get some money coming in. After working for five months in the warehouse I got a job in the IT department and am still in the same company.

Currently employed as the European IT Infrastructure Manager for a pan european distributor of lasers, fibre optics and high tech stuff (thermal imagers and other crap like that). I'm based in the office in Milton Keynes but spend a lot of time travelling about the other offices in europe.

Away from work I like to holiday in the US (average of 3 times a year) and I listen to music of various types pretty much all my waking hours.

I'm Joe

I'm 18 and live in a tiny village called Cowbit in the middle of nowhere.

Currently I'm in the last few weeks of sixth form doing my alevels which are, maths, further maths, physics (inc. AEA), chemistry, IT and general studies. I'm hoping to go to York university next year to study physics. I only need BBB (inc maths and physics) so I think I should be alright.

I'm a complete linux geek. My distro of choice in Gentoo. I like to do the odd bit of programming (php, html, sql, and can do a little bit of bash, perl and python) don't have time for anything serious though.

I enjoy listening to punk rock and skacore music. Favourite bands are probably the likes of Farse and Capdown. I generally just go to gigs in Peterbrough in small alternative clubs. My favourite TV show is probably The Shield.

Thats about it really. Hopefully my life will be more exciting once I move somewhere less isolated.

I am Allan, born 09/10/1980 making me 24.
Born in Romford Essex before moving to Peterborough aged 4 and have been here ever since...

I have 2 sisters, both older so I am the spoilt kid :) We moved to Peterborough when Mum and Dad divorced, since found out he used to abuse her (physically) so very glad we got away from him. I have the utmost respect for my mum, she is up there with the best of them. I attended school locally, finished with 11 GCSE grades A8-B and two a levels with A passes. I then decided to attend university, completed Business Studies with honours.

Then came my job, I started work as a call centre agent 18 months ago and now I am a Technical Support Manager for a large telco company. I bought my childhood home from my mum just over a year ago and have since sold this and moved into the city centre into a 2 bedroom penthouse with my fiancee of 4 years, which I am loving.

Most of the people know who/what I am on here - but I guess I can educate the ignorant ;)

My name's Will, born in Paris on 31/07/80, have a younger sister.
Grew up and lived in France for 11 years.
Christened in Cyprus and am part Cypriot too.
1/2 French, 1/4 English, 1/4 Cypriot.
Mother is French, father is part cypriot part english. I also have many links to the middle east owing to family and friends and love the Mediterannean in general.

Moved to London in the early 90s where I have been ever since. Went to Dulwich College in S.E. London where I still live in Dulwich.

I have been fortunate enough to have travelled around the world from a young age and still do so now.

I went to Loughborough University and studied Electronic & Computer Systems Engineering.

I used to play rugby fairly seriously but have given up owing to injuries amongst other things.

I work on superyachts around the world.

I hate stella, but love food.

Hobbies include skydiving, gym, sports, films, music, computers, travel, cars and bikes.

I ride a Yamaha YZF600R and drive a Mazda MX5.

Tiggy:
My Name is Rae (yes it is a girl's name, I am a girl and my name is not Raymond or Rachel!) I was born in sunny lincoln on the 24th of March 1981. I have 2 half brothers and 2 half sisters. 2 of which are half Italian. And I'm the youngest by 10 years.
My Dad is an armourer working for british aerospace in Saudi Arabia, and has been out there for about 30 years now. When I was 7 me and my Mummy went out there and lived there for nearly 7 years. I really miss the days and evenings I spent in the swimming pool, as well as the life long friends I made.
I play the flute, alto saxophone and the clarinet and used to be in the lincoln youth concert band.
I had planned to apply through nmas to go to uni in september 2003, but in april 2003 I found out that I was pregnant.
On the 11th of January 2004 after lots of wonderful painkillers my beautiful daughter was born. My life has changed so much, but I wouldn't change her for the world.
In March this year I met 8 I3ALL at the kent meet and we've been a couple since then.

matthew_o50 - I am Matthew (encase you didn't guess ;))

I was born 02/04/1987 which makes me 18 years old. I live in Belfast and have done my whole life in 3 different houses. I have 4 brothers and one sister. 2 of my brothers and my sister have moved out and so it is just mum, dad, 2 brothers and me living at home now. I am the youngest by the way.

I am currently at college doing my AS levels this year in Music, Businesiness Studies and ICT which I will continue on next year for A2. After that I want to go to uni to do either Music or Business (possibly both if I get in to a local teacher training college). I am a very keen musician, I play flute, violin, piano and clarinet. The flute is my main instrument and I am currently studying for my Diploma which I will be taking in November.

I also love animals. I have one dog called Elsa, she is a 4.5 year old boxer dog and is one of my best friends. I couldn't imagine life without at least 1 animal.

In between practicing all my instruments, studying and browsing these forums I teach flute, I am a member of the school choir (shussshh!;)) and directing a small orchestra of 1st years in school I love going out for walks and spending time in the countryside.

Am i the oldest person on these forums :(
Nowhere near. I would probably now be 100 years old if the human form had developed with one less finger on each hand, resulting in us adopting an octal rather than a decimal system of counting. You have 27 years to go before you can reach my age, by which time I shall be long dead, I hope. :)

Bit more about me:

I have twin daughters, 37 yo, both producing children themselves, and both claiming to have stopped, resulting in us having five grandchildren, G7, B5, G5, B3, B2.

Spent entire fulltime working life in the computer industry, working for a computer manufacturer, and saw numerous changes to the computer. They were just changing from valves to transistors when I joined them.

After taking early retirement, I took up private maths tuition, and now have just under 30 students at all levels from primary school to university. Most are now in panic mode, as GSCE maths is in the next two weeks, and AS and A2 are under way.

In addition, I'm on the editorial team of a puzzle magazine, and organise and run walking holidays in UK and mainland Europe. My wife is also involved in the walking holidays, and as a result we only very occasionally meet up during summer months.

Then, of course, there's the most important member of my family - my dog, Shep, a 12yo border collie, who thinks he's still a puppy.

That's about all that's worth saying, and probably most of that's not worth saying.

Interrupt - Jasper

born 1985 in cheltenham but have lived in evesham all my life...except the first few days at the hospital.

i'm into computers, gaming, MSN, music, impulse buying, the prospect of piercing and tattoos, pointing and laughing at all the scene kids, 80s sunglasses, films, playing the guitar and other such sociable habits.

(a little personal history, in a nutshell) my grandmother is jewish, and had to escape germany during WWII when her german father was killed. she lost her entire family, save for one brother, to concentration camps in germany. she fled to england where she met my grandfather and had my dad and his 3 sisters. it's a horrible thought that if it werent for hitler i wouldnt exist :(

i am currently engaged to my girlfriend of 2 years whom i met on the interwebs, and we hope to get married when she gets back from university...but she hasnt even gone yet so i've still got a long wait!!!

i drive a ford fiesta 1.25 zetec freestyle (from A to B) and hope to do my bike licence next year.

i have recently found myself spending all available funds on camera equipment, and hope to be able to practice that a lot more (if i can ever get some time to do it properly!) i am also training to be a web designer.
