wow. you've spending a lot of effort trying to say it can't be used as a lubricant and then saying it can.
no one is disputing it's not the best product to use and if it is used it's only a stop gap/temporary fix.

We use butter as a lubricant but it doesn't make it a lubricant. Yes I'm being pedantic but that is the difference and I would still advice to not use it because it doesn't well or at all in certain applications.
In the absence of any visible damage/burned out components, I give failed hardware a good session in the oven as my first port of call.
It is amazing how many failures this recovers, I have no idea if it could help you, but for the sake of 30 mins I'd give it a go
