Who caught your eye last year?

Cant say I changed at all last year, but I appreciate the thought the same :)

I actually spend a lot more time north of GD than you lot think, and the main people I noticed are all up that way :-

NathanE - Very much an Intel/Microsoft supporter, and while I'll bet he often feels like he's fighting that corner on his own (particularly when it comes to Intel/The CPU forum), he holds his arguments very well, doesn't descend into petty fanboyism, and generally just knows his stuff. Never shy about lending a hand in Windows either.

semi-pro waster - You wont find a more helpful guy in the hardware forums. End of.

hottiger - Again, always eager to lend a hand or advise, and knows his stuff.

GD comedy wise it has to be Belmit for me. We all know who the comedy crew are, but he really proved himself to me as quite the comedy genius, given the right circumstances. Perhaps it's alcohol induced.... who knows ;)

Oh, and in terms of single posts - Lopéz made the funniest post last year. It was in one of the anti-metro threads - hair trimming/shaving I think - and a poster made a comment similar to:

Some poor unsuspecting poster said:
Women like it clean, so we should like it to
The reply had me in fits for quite a while:

Lopéz said:
Women also like a face full of penis, does that mean I should too?
:D

Wasn't sure what to expect from Lopéz when I met him, but he really is a top bloke. Even if he does keep those damn spiders.

Has to be Fox. He brainwashed me into getting a Mondeo. Now he texts me at 1am about them too. He is my mondeo bum buddy.

Also Sam, Mike and Ian. Known as Sam, L0rdmike and F355. I think of them as actual friends. Speak to them almost daily. Met them a few times. Stayed over at Sams once. All thanks to this forum! :D

Me. I pwn.

Seriously, though. I heart fox...and I know he reciprocates...or at least pushes back.

Other than that, the usual suspects; sic, Mohinder, arcade fire et cetera.

the _dark_side

like his debating ability, also comes across as very well travelled on the road of life so has many experiences to bring to the table.

Matt Black

Sensible guy, if I could chose a father figure for my unborn/unconcieved child I would mould myself on him

[TW]Fox

Mr mondeo, utterly wise beyond his years - should get a job rewriting parkers car guides, he has them beat hands down in terms of knowledge. Argues his opinions well too

Jilly and Freefaller

coz I miss them RL :(

gord was voted funny by someone in a thread once. I'd never heard of him so added him to MSN. He's a HOT guy, even if he is in Southampton.

*ninja edit, but i caught you... ;) :D :p

*modified truth

Oh i also need to mention some others:

Sic - Forum defender. I feel if im ever threatened by another forum member i can call on Sic.

Belmit - For the neverending amount of additions to the caption competition thread, canvasing the competition.

Octadon - I just wanted to write it... what...?

Tru - I believe this man has a personal rule to input maximum comedy into every single one of his posts. I fear what may happen to the universe if this rule is ever broken.

GordyR - With such a similar name to mine... stolen tbh... it'd be hard not to catch my eye... although i do often think maybe he's some sort of Type R version of myself, which i dont like the sound of as they are often more powerful...

Like Sic, i've only been here a year so there's a few I can mention.

Von - Fantastic sense of humour, and is a Stella drinker :D
Gilly - Thought he'd be a git, met him in Essex and he got me dancing, so I still have that opinion :p
Huddy - You raid a minibar, you're gonna get on this list, simple as.
Piggy/Desmo - Arranged a great Essex meet and are a top class couple to boot
MB/Wildlotus - Arranged I think the biggest OcUK meet thus far, both have an excellent sense of humour and good to have a chat with.
Davey - Despite being scouse, is very friendly to talk to. Looking forward to meeting again in L'Pool
Lynnie - Deserves to be on here because she puts up with Davey, simple really :p
Lopez - Enjoys a nice race across the back roads of south Wales
Jenjey - Great lass, really nice to talk to on msn. Really looking forward to a future meeting

There are others that have caught my eye but can't really nail down a specific reason.

Dammit  Sorry Creature, I forgot you too. And Arcade Fire.

See, this is why I try not to answer in this kind of thread.

GordyR....lots of reasons, not least of which is his hunkiness.

Gilly for being a big northern puff...I already new this but it was confirmed recently with a salad related comment.

Freefaller....he looked particularly fetching in that white linen dress.

Sic - He likes to think he's all cool and hard and mean to people, but he's actually nice. He tries not to show it but he's a legend. Also is chief Agony Uncle for me. Listens to more crap from me than any human being should have to and doesn't even flinch. Also ginger.

Gilly - We're about as different as you can be in lots of ways but we agree on a fair bit of stuff too. I didn't really have an opinion of him before, but now I think he's dead sound and that.

Saitrix - Much the same as what he said about me really - as far as I knew all we had in common was liking R/C stuff, but he's a great guy. He does talk some crap though.

Arcade Fire - Nice fella. Consistently makes me grin, on the boards and on MSN. Also ginger.

Penski - Makes me laugh with most of his posts, and his taste in cars is exquisite. Also has big holes in his ears. I like that in a man.

Otacon - his posting style seems to have changed since he became a don. I think it has anyway, maybe he's just come waaaaay out of his shell since he got THE POWAH but I've taken a real shine to him over the last couple of months.

Rich_L - I want to learn how to be shmoove from him. *mental note - add Rich_L to MSN against his will*

Cleanbluesky - the most artful troll I've ever met. He trolls without being a troll. It's beautiful to witness, and I really do mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Neon - I used to think he was just some young dude who was always arguing with everyone, but he added me to MSN and he's a really nice guy. Bit odd, but a nice dude. :D

Carzy - font of musical knowledge. Weirdo though.

Brynn & Kahn - only just got round to adding these two, but I reckon they're pretty cool fellas, hope to get to know them better.

Outside of my usual haunts, Yewen - he's almost sickeningly helpful in Case Central, and needs to be made a Don or UB sharpish.

There are more, I'm sure. I'll edit.

Bugger. Forgot Tru - the guy's a legend. Makes me laugh more than any other forum member. It's not fair that one person can be that funny.

Indeed - you always miss out people and then feel like a git for forgetting to mention them.

I've noticed quite a few "new people" this year - not necessarily new to the boards, but people who've started addressing me in a more personal manner, or who I've met in real life.... some who just caught my eye (as mentioned in the thread title)

Jenjey - A really, genuinely nice bird with a good brain and wise beyond her years. Very mature for someone so young.

GordyR - Never really knew much of him but the more I read, the more I like. Talented, good looking gaylord :p His girlfirend has got incredibly nice legs.

Mr Huddy, Treefrog, Pax, Creature, a few others - I put these in the same mini-group of "people who I've met at meets and spent some time talking to/clicked with. All genuine, great people who I never knew existed this time last year

Von Smallhausen - I thought he was a spammy wisearse to be honest. But I've met him, and he isn't - not at all. Straight as a die, genuinely top bloke.

Mohinder - I used to think he was your typical pierced attention seeking alternaperson. Now I actually read his posts instead of glancing at his sig, I know that couldn't be further from the truth.

There are others that I forget, and others that I knew pretty well anyway - so won't bother mentioning them :)

There's a hell of a lot of people on here who I love and respect and I don't even know where to start. Most of the members who attended the Southwest Motors meet are really sound people and would be on my list.

A couple that I remember in no particular order:

Blinkz - I can always have a decent conversation with him about flying and I admire his determination in going ahead with his professional flight training.

JohnnyG - For helping me out with info on the local area as I've only just moved house.

Feek - First met him at the Swansea do in 2003. Such a decent guy whos posts I always enjoy reading.

There's plenty more but I'm crap at remembering names! You all know who you are though so if I've left you off let me know :)

Well, I've only been a Don for a couple of weeks, so it aint that :)

Quite surprised people say I've changed. I really dont see it.
