Who else gets migranes

Mine are usually before lunch, but never first thing in the morning and always start the same way and follow the same pattern.

Long as you're getting a good amount of sleep at the same time each night (even weekends), you have eaten at the right time at night so your body isn't low on energy, what sort of exercise do you get? I still think some element of mine has to do with stress and my lighting conditions at work.

I wouldn't say mine has anything to do with stress - I always seem pretty chilled out with things. My sleep patterns are never too consistent and I wouldn't say my diet is overly balanced either although I don't eat much junk. I had glandular fever during winter and so haven't been doing much exercise as yet but am hoping to start again soon and built it up gradually.

I tend to get tunnel vision with mine and they are triggered usually by a bright light, ie a car window reflecting the bright sun.

I tend to get occular migraines, or at least that's what the doctors said last time I went there. Basicly the eye stuff without such a bad headache. My eyelids also droop when this happens and I've found it's more the cause of the bad vision (holding them open gives back beter sight), so it may just be a "light" reaction :(

I have booked in for eye test again as I am always sat infront of a screen and maybe some kind of eye strain is annoying me but then again I don't see how that would give me a morning migrane. I think it must be the food/diet aspect that gets me but doctors never want to know when i mention it.

I get them about once a year and they are horrible, they strike completely randomly and are incapacitating. My mum also suffers from them so that's probably why I get them.

since we're talking about headaches

how many others have had the really bad eye ache headache when you start descending after a flight?

I've had it twice, it is by far the most horrible pain I can imagine, I remember james.miller said he'd also had it in the past.

feels like boiling hot needles being poked into the back of your eye

yea i get them about once or twice a month now, i used to take daily tablets to stop them when i was younger because i used to get them about twice a week.

the ones i get now are just as bad though, i start with the flashing eyes, then a massive headache which lasts about 6 hours and then i feel nauseous for the rest of the day.

it's worst when it happens at work, because i just have to get on with my day, where as if i'm at home i take some tablets and go a sit in a dark room for an hour or so which usually helps :)

I remember hearing of a guy once who said he took something once and never had a migraine again. Unfortunately it was when i was a lot younger and now I don't remember what he took nor who he was so I can go ask him again!

I get them, They are awful, I inherited them from my mum who also gets them. I also inherited baldness from my dad, and deep red blushing from my mum. I'm like Danny Devito from Twins, The bad egg.

I am the same, not had them since I realised what triggered it but when I did my vision would almost go completely sometimes and I just couldn't function. Just lucky I was always at home when they occurred.

my sister and mum both get mirgranes triggered by orange juice. Ive had them a few times and they are most brutal. I remember once my mum was driving me to school and she suddenly just stopped, lent over me, opened my door and spewed on the pavement. ..... which was nice!

Yep - about 10-15 a year.

I usually get it when the pressure drops very quickly - i.e. going from sunny to stormy conditions.

Doesn't sound like migranes to me, that's sinus pressure? Do you find it becomes more intense if you lean over or look downwards? Now that's something I suffer from, my Dad does too. Horrid feeling, like your head is being crushed and it makes you very dizzy sometimes. Often lasts a couple of days. Asprin works best for this I find, to my knowlege it thins the blood as well as relieves pain, and so it can reduce the swollen blood vessels which are blocking the sinus and actually "cure" the problem, for a while at least. Check you're not allergic, I think some people are, and I'm not actually a Dr, so this may not be totally accurate! Anyhow, better than anything else I've tried for it :)
