Who has SKY HD+?

Anyone else get the email about price changes? With my package (4 mixes, HD, Sky Sports 1 (not 2, just the 1)) its going up by £4.00 in September?!

Bye bye Sky.

Is this in the same email as the one with "Important changes to your HD service"? I haven't had an email about price changes [yet], on 4 mixes + Sky Sports + HD.

Another reason why I'm leaving them for the new house.

Broadband on UKOnline (using easynet LLU) - £20*
Freesat - £0
BT Line rental - £11

There's no way I'm paying them £60 and taking a regular increase just because they can.

Got the letter in with that POS mag they send out... £2.50 more... Hmmm, time to rethink my options....

Have skyHD in folks house and V+HD in my house, TBH the picutre on BBC HD looks far superior on cable than on sattellite and whilst some of the SkyHD movies can look pretty sweet its SD upscaling on everything else is **** poor compared to my V+ box.

I was lucky enough to get one of the older boxes though so I still have component, RCA and optical out along with my HDMI.

Sneaky gits! Just found an unopened copy of my old man's Sky magazine and the price increase is stealthily mentioned in the enclosed letter!

We're on a 2 mix pack for £19pm iirc (no HD subscription). If this price increase is non-negotiable, will we at least get access to the HD versions of the channels we receive (e.g. Sky One HD)?

Cheers,

Su

£4.00 must be a misprint for me. No-one else is getting that much of an increase and my package is by no means massive.

Can't wait to get rid of Sky when (or rather if going by the housing market) I move. Virgin sounds much more appealing when bundling TV/BB/Phone. I can get basically the same if not more for less with them.

I also got that letter today along with the Magazine. Quite funny as it was delivered while the bloke from Virgin was installing my V+HD box and second box in the bedroom. I was already with Virgin for Phone and BB so decided to go with them for TV after 8 years with Sky.

Also increased my BB to 50mb today. :D

Grr why do i have to live in an area where Virgin haven't install their cable down our road :(

Stuck with Sky and rubbish internet speeds as no LLU either

i think the sky internet rd here is fine nice and fast,, i wouldnt touch virgin with a bargepole

I've got Sky+ HD, and its great. We don't have the broadband, we've got a deal with BT thats real hard to beat now though, as we're "Loyal Customers" :)

meh just called sky and their 'wonderful' (insert sarcasm) customer service. took a pack off....lady on the phone says 'you do realise its only £1 extra' to which i replied 'thats £1 to many with the price rises' we both laughed - i fell in love...lol.

i then proceded to ask if their were any deals on hd/sports on which she said 'its £10 a month' - 'not really worth it then' i replied followed by more awkward laughing from us both.

good times.

Is there a cooling off period with Sky?

I got it through a 3rd party company last week and now I'm getting no signal via Sky or Freesat on my building. I've heard that last time this happened in this building it took months to fix. Not paying £55pm to receive absolutely nothing and having to use Freeview.

Hoping that there is some sort of 14 day cooling off period with no charges!
