Who has the highest average post count?

Post Counts do mean nothing though. Its nice to have a large one though ;) . I do prefere a good long post to read rather than a 2 word answer unless its a witty quip. Some people on here really are great at getting a point accross where as some people just agree like sheep.

High post counts just give an indication how much time you've spent on the boards. In my case, probably far too much.

Doesn't work the same for low post counts because they may be lurkers.

Other than that, they're pretty much meaningless.

Do you not feel that some people disregard opinions from so called "newbies".

Yup, in hardware if your not sporting the Wise Guy tag you get ignored, I had that problem not so long ago.

My post count is not representative of my PPD since the start of 2005, I was a lurker for a long time with only 0.5ppd if that.

Oh, no I get noticed with the Don thingy. :p

I mean usually people with the Gangster or Thug tags seem to be ignored by some people, even when they answer or solve the persons problem.

If you just go into a trouble shooting thread in GH and take a look, people always go for the suggestions of the higher post count users first for some reason, even if the lower post count guy has got it all worked out.

Quite hard to miss the Mods and Admins on OcUK due to the limited avatar choices and the size of the moderation teams signature's.

You see it in SW a lot too. But then again you do get a lot of people just signing up to ask a question and are never seen again. You gotta take each post at face value with out looking at who its from.

The question is, would some people stop posting if their postcount went down everytime they posted, and not up?

I think people would just ignore the - next to their postcount and then treat it exactly the same as they do now.

Whether people would stop posting if postcounts didn't increase at all, however...

Nobody that has a postcount over 1000 I would imagine.

If you put 1000 posts into a forum it means you are interested in the community at least a little, the post count once you top 250 is irrelevant though.

I just like to browse all sections, get well involved, post some of my own issues, experience etc... its just something for me to do, im out of education and work for the time being so to me its a few hours a day i spend on here having a laugh, a wonder, sometimes feeling for some people i.e. people who loose someone or who just has a kid or sumin, to me its a good experience and you learn a lot...
