Who here is getting a Sandybridge-E Cpu?

The machine Orcvadar showed is fully submersed in liquid.

Look at the graphics cards - no fan either.

the machine uses liquid coolant from Cray supercomputers so submerge all the components.

Edit cant post the name or company as they would be a competitor but ig you google the name in one of the pics you will find more out.

Are you sure, doesn't seem to be under liquid.

CraigN is correct, the "Armari XCP" refereed to on the label is indeed a liquid immersion cooling system. I was not aware that such things were being commercialised.

Will you be able to post info? are you getting it for review or?

I'm mainly interested in the cooler mounting and what coolers i can use on it.

Can't give any info yet until release.

The cpu won't give you any info on mounting anyway. You will need motherboards for that ;)

I would but as current top end GPU's don’t need the power of a different cpu then no need, will wait and see if the next gen GPU's are restricted from the 2600k, but I doubt it lol..

I do believe what he means is. Pointless for a gaming rig. Obviously it will be excellent for gaming, but to build a gaming rig around one would be silly. As cheaper processors will more than likely perform the same in games.
That does make sense. If only gurusan had bothered to elaborate on their point.

Tomshardware already did a preview on this processor using a pre-release processor and X79 board. It's not any faster in games at all. Just google it. I wouldn't expect much different from the final samples.

I don't think anyone's going to be buying this for gaming, really. Apart from e-peen types. I'm in the market for a high-end chip for rendering that is the equivalent of an i7 970/980/990 etc, and this appears to be it. Hopefully the benches will reveal that it's worth it.
