Who is 4k ready?

Bit of an open ended question - my 780 will play a lot of games at 4K at 60fps but to one degree or another may require sacrificing settings for either VRAM or (less so) core performance considerations.

I have a 4K panel and can do 4K downsampling on my Swift.

Personally don't rate it as an overall gaming solution though - much happier playing at native res on the swift irrespective of having the performance for 4K or not - there are some games that are just immense at 4K however.

I think to some degree though it comes down to personal preference - I can't get into a game personally when using a controller but something like mass effect or dishonoured played on a 40+" 4K screen using a controller would be an incredibly gaming experience whereas for me I just don't get the level of immersion in a game I want without using keyboard and mouse and a upto 28" 1920x or 2560x panel.

EDIT: One of the issues for me is that I very much like my 400-800dpi mouse settings, 1:1 mapping with middle of the road sensitivity - at 4K res a lot of games you can't get a happy medium between being able to do large mouse movements with accuracy and without too much physical movement while also retaining precise smaller movement.

Not really. I mean I play everything in 4k but even 4 TitanX cards aren't always able to produce 60fps at 4k.

Yeah, there seems to be a distinct gap in monitor and gpu specs. Even 144hz 1440p monitors seem a little far fetched to me. There can't be many rigs, if any, that can maintain that across the board.

UHD!

I'm somewhat ready, in as much as the games I play would run more than well enough on a UHD display, the only downside is that my 290X only has 1 displayport out, and I'd be needing 3 displays.

I'm not sure but I have been wondering if I could run 4K recently... I'd like to replace my 2 23" 1080p monitors with 2 4K monitors (either 24" or 28").

I think I'll end up buying the monitors in 1-2 months then going crossfire if my PC isn't up to the job (unfortunately that means new PSU as well as GPU).

I have a 28" 4K, but I can't play particularly demanding games at 60FPS in 4K yet as I still have a 7970GHz. I'm looking for a pair of Titans on the MM though. :)

Clearly they do because the OP asked, and it is at least slightly interesting to know how widely adopted a new technology is.
