Who is going to get a Pascal Titan X ?

Last I heard Titan cards were for profesionals, not sure if that has changed by now but I only make the ocasional dubstep montage video for fun

Am looking to get a full size pascal card for under £500,
though more realistically a 1070 if price drops in a few monthes ( replacement for a 780ti }

Us poor people will have to stick to slower GPUS and look through the rich people's houses who are sporting Titan X cards. Might actually knock and ask for spare change :D

Like always, those buying enjoy and those who are not, behave and don't be antagonistic. Life is far too short to worry about a grand or 2.

If someone has an option and shares it there is nothing wrong with that. This applies even when that opinion is very different to mine or anyone elses for that matter.

What is wrong is if someone repeatedly tries to force that opinion onto someone else.

People should respect other peoples point of view.

or call others idiots for buying something they don't agree with and then act shocked when they are called out for it ...

Nah, it's too early atm to drop that kind of money on a GPU. Maybe next year, and only if they have 8gb+ of HBM2. Otherwise I'll just have to wait for Navi I guess, and just buy a beefier GPU second-hand if I see a good deal.

By all means bring on the full fat chip and I'll gladly pay the same price they are charging for this one but paying this amount of money for a cut down chip is loopy.

For you it is. For people who have massive disposable incomes they'll buy this cut down one and the next. Easy.

You called yourself an idiot for getting one... So when people agree you have issues with this;)

I havent owned an Nvidia card for well over 12 years, but im tempted to buy this Titan just to see what the fuss is about.

Then promptly trade it in for big Vega when it arrives.

+1. Also GPU's mean different things to different people. To some, they are almost a lifestyle, as in a main hobby that takes up a significant portion of their time. If they want to spend a few k on GPU's, then why not.

Personally, my 1070 FE currently runs all the games that I play at high FPS, while being lovely and quiet, so I doubt I'll be upgrading for another year or so. While I could afford a Titan, it would be a wasteful purchase for me.

I'm also very happy with my 1070's heat output during these hot days - 150W plus my 6700k's 100 ish watts make for a quiet, low heat output system, just perfect for this weather :)

No as just bought a 1080 buying a x34a next week. Then saving a chunk of money as next upgrade will be two 1080ti's replace my old cpu ram mobo ( 2600k ) with maybe a 5820k or alike and have some really nice radiators about so going to get a new case and water cooling bits and get it all nice and chilly.

Like a lot of people will say it's a "stupid buy or waste of money" i think that's wrong it's up to whoever is spending the money to spend it how they want but i do think they should be using it appropriately and to it's full potential as if they are playing at 1080p60hz for instance then they may as well just get a 1070 or such. But i think thats why these forums are great as people can really help one another getting the ideal parts for what they need.
