Who is the best Unlimited Broadband ISP?

I've been with o2 for a month or so.And I think they're great.I get bewteen 10&12meg download and just over a meg upload any time of the day.
If you can get their ADSL2+ service in your area i'd go with them.

That's my test just now.

Would love to get BE Broadband, as they always have an amazingly fast service for very little money, better than anyone else out there really, the ISP that cannot be beaten.

Not that I get that choice, ADSL Max sucks due to the 8mb limit and the monthly capping of around 50gb, until they upgrade my exchange in the country I wont be able to enjoy the 24mb Unlimited that many others in London are currently enjoying

Anyone with news on the ADSL24 ISP? I want to make sure they are worth the money, it is almost like they are semi-unlimited with the free weekends downloads without a usage limit

ADSL24 is ok, I used to use them, they are capped though and there are totally unlimited ISP's out there like Sky and BE

I might go with ADSL24 now that I have been with my other provider for a good 3 months, but I do have to give them 3 months disconnection notice, as long as I get good speeds at the evening and weekends (when its free) then I would be really happy with them, even though I am never near my 50gb limit, having that free download time will let me download some naughty stuff that I have forced myself not to touch in case I go over the top

I am also looking for unlimited broadband...my exchange doesn't get upgraded to LLU until Q4 2009,although i wouldn't bet on it.Right now i am with eclipse who have to be the worst most unprofessional ISP i have ever been with, they throttle me all the time even after 11pm when they are not supposed to.Anyway im a bit upset i can't get great broadband like BE or O2(i can get access).Does anyone know of any good unlimited broadband for me? i wouldn't mind even a 50gb peak time per month usage as eclipse only give me 20gb right now and sometimes i go over that just from watching iplayer, then i get cut back to 512kb until the 7th of the next month :( Just as long as it gives good, constant speeds unlike eclipse. The only option i have seen are adsl24(entanet),O2 access,Virgin and plus net.Any suggestions?

Cheers

Dont even touch O2 Access! They are the worst people I have ever been with, where I was getting dial-up speeds at the evenings and all weekends, to the point where I couldnt even watch videos in youtube! Plus Net are not that much better either, as they heavily throttle you for any P2P or downloading you would be doing, so on the strength of that dont bother with them either.

I have heard very bad things as far as Virgin is concerned, but ADSL24 do sound quite good from the people that have tried it on here, and as they only have a 1-monthly contract, its well worth a try as you can just leave if your not happy with them. It seems for around £27 a month you get 60gb daily cap, and free usage midnight-9am weekdays, and all weekend!

If you just want to live with 50gb total monthly limit, then you could try Cerberus, who I am with at the moment. I get maximum download speeds all day, everyday, which is a breath of fresh air for me with the other people I have been with.

:( damn i hate not having LLU,the prices are extortionate for the speed and download limit compared to LLU services.£28 is a lot i think for adsl24 60gb plan...i have searched far and wide and i think im just going to have to deal with very slow speeds and throttling from eclipse until the end of 2009 when *hopefully* my exchange is enabled.I can't bring myself to pay that a month for such a package.

Enabled for what exactly? It's not going to be upgraded "to LLU" - it'll either be unbundled by a single provider or you're thinking of something other than LLU.

That's not really going to change anything as far as getting unlimited downloading goes though. You might very well get faster, but the price of bandwidth across the BTw network doesn't (AFAIK) get substantially cheaper.

Lets face it, me and all other non-LLU customers are going to have to face extortionate prices for our "upto 8mb" connections along with usage caps until we eventually get any ISP to place LLU into our exchanges, which might take quite a long time. Im currently connected to the Westerham exchange, and im quite close to it, says there are around 3.800 residential properties, so someone might see how much money could be made if most people connected subscribed to a companies LLU service. I can all but hope for this

It depends how you define extortionate for what some people would use as a leased line costing significantly more still. Someone might see a market for it if people were willing to pay for it, rather than chasing <£10 broadband.

What I call extortionate is paying around the £25-£30 mark for a decent provider that can offer people like me the service, apart from the fact that they all slap a 50gb-60gb monthly limit on the data download, which does stop you doing anything like iplayer HD or doing things I shouldn't be talking about on here unless I want a suspension etc

They slap a limit on it because 50-60GB is the point where they just about break even (if that). Bear in mind that £25-30 used to barely get you home500.
I'd suggest you need to revise what's extortionate if you want unlimited transfer. It's debatable if even the LLUers break even offering unlimited transfer at that sort of price.

If you look at much of the rest of the world and developed nations uk broadband is extortionate and the infrastructure appalling compared to countries like S.korea or Japan.Just because people are complacent about the state of Uk broadband doesn't mean it isn't bad.Anyway,im a cheap skate so im going to go for the adsl24 30gb package because i dont want to give eclipse anymore money.Hopefully samknows is right and my exchange is enabled at the end of this year.
