Well I am very lucky to not be seriously ill in hospital right now, I bought a glass bottle of Orange Juice from Spar Premier and got the the bottom of the bottle and I was about to drink the last bit and heard a rattle.

At first I thought it was ice since my fridge is quite cold but I poured it out into another glass and to my horror it is a huge chunk of razer sharp broken glass.

I am worried that there could have been very small bits of glass that I drank but I feel fine and Im guessing I wont be able to prove it unless I get ill or whatever.

Usually there’s an address to write to on the packaging.

Alternatively @ them on twitter.

You should complain tbh, could be other bits of glass in other cartons.

i think they make them themselves, they asked if I could bring back the bottle so they could reuse it.

there is no info on the bottle at all and the top just says to keep in a fridge and it has the use by date

They should have a procedure in place that triggers when a complaint like this is made. I think we can all accept that these things can happen - machinery does wear out and it's not unknown for bits of metal, plastic, glass to come loose. But they need to be made aware of it so launch an inspection.

Probably better off writing on social media, if you have it, as they’ll respond more quickly. Good to let them know in case the whole batch is like that.

Why do people post this when forum members come on asking for advice, opinions or plain discussion.

That’s literally what a forum is for

Because people have a habit of using an internet forum to answer question(s) they could answer themselves, if they bothered to engage their brain and use an ounce of effort on their part.

It tells you on the label how to complain about quality of the product. It's literally right on the packet / label of every single food product in the UK.

As such, it suggests the OP did not create the thread to ask "how do I complain about this" but to get attention of fellow forum members.

Also a forum is for discussions, not spoon-feeding lazy individuals the answer to an obvious question which everyone should already know the answer to, all they needed to do was read the damn label on the bottle.

I bet you don’t get invited to a lot of parties

The problem with retailers paying out on this sort of stuff is you could just put a bit of glass in there and go look, payout please.

Given how dishonesty seems to be increasing amongst folk it's never going to work.

Important to report it yes, but I don't think you can expect anything other than an apology.

Definitely let the manufacturer and the shop know you bought it from. As has been mentioned though it's afaik almost impossible to prove you didn't put it there looking for compensation. If it'd done some damage you'd have got a few £.

Except it doesn't does it? As the OP has said there's no label on this stuff.
