Who should i report this to ?

This is a big deal for reasons a few people have already pointed out. There'll be a Head Office number you can call or you could email. Retailers don't take contaminated products lightly, especially when it's potentially hazardous.

Spar will just sell it, they won’t bottle it. It’s likely it will be bottled at a milk plant as the equipment to do this properly isn’t cheap.

You can try Spar or your local environmental health department.

Because people have a habit of using an internet forum to answer question(s) they could answer themselves, if they bothered to engage their brain and use an ounce of effort on their part.

It tells you on the label how to complain about quality of the product. It's literally right on the packet / label of every single food product in the UK.

As such, it suggests the OP did not create the thread to ask "how do I complain about this" but to get attention of fellow forum members.

Also a forum is for discussions, not spoon-feeding lazy individuals the answer to an obvious question which everyone should already know the answer to, all they needed to do was read the damn label on the bottle.

Well that is where you are wrong, I photographed the bottle. Where do you see a label, its a plain glass bottle. The silver top just has a date on it
there is no label on the bottle and its an exceptional circumstance involving a very serious health hazard.

I asked here due to the serious nature of it and respecting that there are people on this forum that know way more than me about dealing with matters.

Please dont make replies like this to people, im not lazy and im not looking for attention from you or anyone else.

This thread reminds me of that thread a few years back where some complete wally asked whether he should complain to Asda about some dodgy birthday candles he bought

well i think glass shards in a drink is very serious personally

and i have now been in touch with the correct department of my local council after to advice from forum members

i know i could have complained to Spar and got a £5 voucher or whatever they would have given me but i thought this was far more serious and i just thought it was worth asking here

glass shards could have seriously damaged my health, i dont make threads about trivial complaints

thanks, it really puts me off making threads.

i know that no matter what i say or do there is always one that has a go
Welcome to Overclockers :p I struggle to remember the last time I've been in a thread that didn't contain someone hurting their own ego about something that they had absolutely no reason to reply to.

As Loftie said, definitely report via https://www.food.gov.uk/contact/consumers/report-problem/report-a-food-safety-or-hygiene-issue

Wont hurt emailing head office @ Spar either. https://www.spar.co.uk/contact-us/

You could always goon an internet computer forum and complain there.

But is this an internet computer forum or an internet computer forum? I think it's more one than the other.

Thanks for bringing the fact you already knew the answer (which was wrong, btw) to our attention

In all seriousness, I'm the exact opposite. I love when people ask questions on forums and get the correct answer/solution. It makes the internet such an awesome resource, every question I have myself, however obscure, most likely has already been asked and answered. Also, repeating the same question helps google cut through the noise when searching.

I've worked in food production and it's amazing how many units fail the metal detector test per hour, they have test samples at the critical control points as a starting point and if the tester fails the products are quarantined from the last good test.
As regards glass this is pretty bad the bottles are washed and blown out with compressed air where I've worked, guess the rim could chip after this process or just failed procedures

Just to update, my local council who i emailed yesterday has got back to me today and said the matter has been sent to environmental health for investigation.

Thanks to anyone who tried to help, i think the right people have been informed now.

Interestingly a google search for the shop today says they are permanently closed. I do not recall seeing that yesterday when i did the same search to get their address.
