Who thinks Coca-Cola christmas advert is the start of christmas?

OK so I think the Christmas adverts with the lorries rolling through a little town marks the start of Christmas. Does anyone else get excited by this advert? Or do you look forward to some other sign to mark the start of Christmas?

When I see the 'Do They Know it's Christmas' on TV.

yep.

but only if it's the classic truck driving through the town one BEAMING with xmas lights :)

It means "holidays are coming"

Christmas begins when I step out at work and dont have to be back untill the new year, until then its all crap! :D

Am I right in thinking they removed the last part of the old "holidays are coming" advert where Santa's face winks at the kid chasing after the lorry because in our pathetic P.C. world its not appropriate for Santa to wink at a child?

Im serious, I heard somewhere, this is why Santa no longers winks at the end.

I find it funny that it's still in the same ratio and has black bars when showing on the TV the other day.

This. If its not got this song, then its not worth my time!

Of course there are things that need to be changed with adverts, but the coca cola one must never be altered this much! Sure, update the graphics, but it needs coca cola trucks and 'Holidays are Coming'.

No, and I think it's quite sad and pathetic that peoples lives could be governed by when a multi-national company decide to roll out an advert to sell fizzy drinks.

And I'm not humbug when it comes to christmas, I really like christmas but I just fail to understand this 'tradition' that seems to have become popular in the last few years.

Now ban yourself for such blasphemy!

Cocaine-cola

Got a chuckle from me :D

Nobody has gotten an urge to buy fizzy drinks from an advert that many cherish.

For many the advert is a sign that Christmas has arrived, nothing more nothing less. The advert has been around for many years so its normal that many relate to it as a sign of Christmas.

"People like me" What do you mean by that?

I'm not worked up about it at all. I just laugh at those who are so pathetic that they have to be dictated to by a large company who only exist to sell fizzy flavoured water to decide when they should start celebrating christmas.

Perhaps you're not getting worked up, but you've retorted to defending your earlier post (albeit by branding people pathetic). I think you know exactly what others mean when quoting your earlier comment.
