They suspend your account though & make it just as hard as MS to get it back! The point I am making is its no different either way if your cards expired. Just call Xbox LIVE support they are based in Ireland they will sort it for you its a freephone call as well !!

You cannot blame MS if you did not change your account to not auto renew the sub can you for ages now you could go to xbox.com & edit your payment details from any web browser.

I never have any money in my bank and Valve have never suspended my Steam account thank you.

To be honest I had absolutely no problems with GFWL myself so I find all the hate quite amusing. Sure, some things about it could be better, but it has not affected me being unable to play a game.

For the Xbox 360 players who already have this game and those who care about the Achievements, if the PC version's are linked as well, then that is also a bonus for them.

1. I did phone them, nothing could be done as it was already 2 months after they had allowed it to tick over onto a new sub when it was on an expired card, was told no access to account until I paid on GFWL or xbox live.

2. Yes I can blame them, I purposely didn't ring up to cancel as I knew card was expiring so it shouldn't be an issue and it will reject payment and cancel. And you cannot edit anything on your account until you have paid.

3. I don't understand what you are on about on steam, when my card expired it said payment rejected and I realised I was on a new card and just paid with my new one and details, steam isn't subscription based so I don't see how this can happen.


The guy I was on the phone to from Ireland agreed it was a joke and clearly couldn't say that it is just a way for microsoft to eat money out of people due to the fact it auto renews even on a invalid card leaving you having to subscribe just to play your PC games which are **** all to do with xbox live.

Google some stuff up on it...

There was a survey somewhere were 93% of people voted it was ****. A lot of people had a very bad experience with the program, including me.
 
GFWL is still being used they are just selling on Steam as well like everyone expected from day 1. Check out the latest trailer it has a clear GFWL logo at the end & its also being sold on Games For Windows Marketplace (which is mainly for GFWL games).

I doubt GFWL will be removed now the game is going to pass to GFWL QA in a month or so ripping GFWL out (for a mainly SP based game anyway) would be commercial suicide this close to release. GFWL for Co-Op is not as relevant on PC as players can use trainers if the game is way too hard. My understanding is that Co-Op makes the game easier on consoles but on PC there are many other ways to make the game easier if you cannot survive a japanese hardcore difficulty level.
 
Personally I have never had a problem with GFWL. But the Co-Op is a huge part of this game.

I would go as far as say it is essential. GFWL will hurt it's sales.
