If I remember correctly that has always been the case on this forum. Although perhaps a little closer.
 
I have been a socialist all my life so that rules out the Tories and Labour.

Of the mainstream parties; I prefer the policies of the Lib-Dems but I will probably vote Scottish Socialist. They are maybe slightly left of ideal for me but they are the by far the closest to my way of thinking.

Im not old enough to vote but i realy hope conservatives do not win, i hope Labour do, and personaly don't have anything against Tony Blair
 
well, if it'd make a difference, i'd vote labour. since they don't have a chance of winning my constituency, i'll vote lib-dem instead. hopefully, denying a seat to conservatives will help labour stay in power.

personally, i dont like the current voting system, but i can't think of anything better. at least it doesn't confuse you like the american one did years back when bush first got in power......

Why?

If it's purely based on the manifesto (or hints of the manifesto up until yet) then i'd side with the conservatives/liberal democrats - purely because of the intended scappring of university fees.

All I know of is:

Tories
Lib Dems
Green
UKIP
BNP
Veritas
English Democrat
LCA

Any others? And what do they stand for as politcal parties?
 
I think that question(s) could produce a very long answer, though I doubt anyone has the energy to answer it in full. Have a look on the BBC election 2005 website - I think it sums up all the main policies of the main political parties.
 
I will be voting conservative because a) I have been brought up in a tory household my entire life and although I've tried hard to develop my own political beliefs I came to the same conclusion of my parents and b) The conservative MP in my ward has always been very good for my area and I want him to be my MP for another 4 years. Having said this however I do not think that Michael Howard is the best man to lead the country, nor Blair and unfortunately although Kennedy has charm and stuff he's too much like a teddy bear!

they won't mate, they need over 40% to even do anything. But they will cut Labours majority.

I'm still not sure about them. I'll vote, I like Howard, but I'm not sure on the rest of them. Letwin or Brown, who would you choose?

This is a pretty right wing forum. Luckily the results won't be representative of the real election ;)

I would say labour will get in again but with a reduced majority (round 50 or so)
 
I'm too young to vote, but wouldn't know who to vote for even if I could. It's not that I'm apathetic, but that none of the parties provide an overall solution which I'm happy with. I am happiest with Labour running the economy, but disagree with their policies on immigration and education. I'm perhaps more comfortable with Tory policies in general but I don't trust them to run the British economy - Letwin? I don't think so. As for the Lib Dems... I like Charles Kennedy but I don't trust his party to run the country as a whole. Plus they have no chance of winning anyway.

I don't see the point in voting for a 'single-issue' party such as the Greens. They argue that they have a rounded manifesto, but just read the Green manifesto and see how vague they are with the economy, health etc. compared to their environmental goals.
