Who with a 8800 series is getting R600?

Same boat as you mate, if R600 is significantly better and the price is right then my 8800GTS is as good as sold.

Not me. I'm more than happy with my GTS. This card will be good for the next 1-2 years for me (like with all my cards).

I see no reason to upgrade.

It would have to be something really really special.

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that spending hundreds on PC hardware is futile.

As mobo's and chips etc... can perform just as fast for considerably less.

I have recently been testing the E4300,6300,6600 and QX6700 and TBH
the difference between the 2mb conroes and the 4mb conroes is so small I defy anyone to notice in real terms.

Only the Quad showed massive gains in encoding but its just not worth the 650 quid price tag.

Maybe easyrider's outlook is changing :eek:

I think people that would go from a 8800 to a R600 are greedy

but you could always give me that 8800 for nothing

ATI will probably release drivers that support the card 2-3 months after it comes out

If its a good, and a decent step up from the 8800gtx, then i will move over to it, if its only slight then chances are im not going to bother till 8800 refresh.

If they are 199inc then 8800 GTS 300MB is the card to get

If they are like 149inc then that would be the ticket

I'll probably stick with my 8800GTX, but if the r600 is something special, I might think about switching.

ill probally get the 2800 or 2900
but i dont have a 8800gtx so i dont have that problem

hold your horses i wouldn't go that far

i only run budget cards in to the ground. Thing is, i dont run a 30" monitor so there's nothing that really phases my pc right now. is it worth upgrading? no i dont think so. not yet, anyway.

Yeah but thats where things get tricky..

R600 comes out (if faster) 8800 GTX prices drop. We lose.

Thats the dilema!

I sell my BFG now for £350 and get R600 for 50 quid more....

Cycle continues

Or just keep GTX and sell it in 12 months for 150 :eek:
