Who's downgraded?

Tom downgraded, gets cash back for his card & buys something similar, can somebody please tell me what the major issue is here?

There was enough posting about this months ago tbh.

The idea is to sell the old gen and move on to new gen before the old gen

significantly drops in price.

Anyway to answer the OP,

Yes people downgraded months ago.Selling their GTX's for 250+ before the drops and buying GT's.

Now anyone still with a GTX is holding on to them as they see no point now due to GTX price drops in recent months.

Unless they see the light and switch to a product with better driver support of course i.e an ATI product.

sold one of my 3870's because i'm so bored with pc gaming right now, sold my GTX at a nice price (before they fell through the floor) to pay for the 2 3870's originally.

now spending my time on my new toy ...eee pc :p

Why do you care so much when people sell whatever hardware they have to buy something else?

Anyway....

I downgraded from a GTX to a GT, as wanted to play with something new. Then sold my GT and got a GTS as wanted something new. Then got rid of the GTS and my quad and got a xbox 360 as was bored of gaming on the pc.

Now all I have is a 7900gs and an e4300, and do all my gaming on my 360. Am loving it!

I would still like to get a 3870, as I will still play some games on my pc at some point. But I am happily, patiently waiting til they can be had new for under £100 :)

Thats the way to do it.

Bag some cash for your old card and move on.

Selling a GTX now for a GT when the price drops have already taken place is

not really the way to do it.

You've made your point, and no one gives a hoot.
Move on...

Different circumstances different people, different choices. Not everyone wants to be a sheep and do the "easy shuffle", not when it sounds pathetic anyway.

Lol

Well this thread has reiterated one thinng

Easy knows how to show himself up :D

His sentiments are of course completely flawed anyway.

Had I chosen to downgrade 6 months ago, yea I may of got 240-250 but the GT was commanding a price of 180+, it was very hard to get one for 145 on release as most places were charging a premium, this made it affect the level of cash pocketed.

So even if had I done this downgrade on GT release I'd actually of pocketed the same level of cash.

It's all completely relative. This is what Easy can't seem to comprehend or is forgetting.

nice deal man !!! i bet u will not notice much different from gt and gtx well depends what rez u playing

Well that depends on how much he games, I noticed the difference between the 8800GT and 8800GTX right way in games I regularly play, however if you don't play many games to start with you won’t notice any difference.

Thinking about downgrading but I'm not sure when will be the best time to do it. The value of the X2 shouldn't really go down until the next gen of cards start appearing should it?

EasyRIder, when did you sell the GTX, and what did you do inbetween GTX and GT?

it DOES make sense to sell the GTX for the GT for £65 gain because when it comes time to resell the GT the GTX will not be worth more than £65 more....

plus decreased powerconsumption... add to the value of cash in hand today...and you're argument isnt very credible.
